For me, facials are an indulgence that I succumb to especially when I feel my skin needs a bit of tender loving care. Love this kind of pampering... Used to have a package at Helio before they were taken over and half the space was gone. Still I would recommend their service as they are professional, friendly and generous with their use of products (if you don't mind the price). At the end of the day- a lot of my sentiments about my facial experience depends on the person attending to you. The therapist that I like has left(no names will be mentioned) and it makes it less enticing for me to go back...if you find a good therapist...hang on to them~
I just went all the way to Katong area to have Katong Laksa with my family... and I was quite pleased with the stall we picked.
The gravy was thick and rich. Noodles not too soft. Enough prawns and strips of fish cake. Satisfactory...
Having said that: Finding parking was a nightmare, unless you want to park along the tiny streets in front of the shop houses as parking lots are few and far between.
The drinks? Teh si there was awful - just water and evaporated milk... Stick to the laksa.
And oh...stay away from the restroom if you can help it :P Overall a 3 thanks to the surroundings.
I was called up by the telemarketing side of Body Wellness (not sure how they got my number) and went down for a 'trial' session of facial after many repeated phone calls from them to try and secure an appointment with me. I chose Stamford Court branch as I thought it was a convenient location but found it quite difficult to locate as it was inside the building and in the basement area past the security at the office lobby. Applaud them for persistence and the person who made the call was very energetic and assured me that it was non-obligatory to sign up for any package after that. So after many rounds of assurance via the phone, I went down and I feel the service is so-so compared to some of the others I have tried (Helio Asia, Elements Spa and Senses Renaza). After the facial, my skin looked a bit clearer but it was accompanied by some sensitive red spots (that went away later…phew). They did sit me down and ask me to get a package but they did not hard sell after I said no a couple of times. Not that pushy after all.
I went to Watsons recently as I was in the area and saw a display of Avalon Organics hair and skin care products such as shampoo and bath gel.
Have been looking for SLS (sodium laureth/laurly sulfate) free shampoo of late as I feel my hair is not taking well to drugstore brand shampoos like Pantene and Dove and yet don’t wish to splurge on salon brands.
Very impressed with this branch because I asked the friendly staff where the shampoo is and she brought me to the shelf and even took the effort to explain to me that the promotion started the next day so I could decide whether to pick it up today.
And she even checked and told me the promotion is only for body products and not hair products - so I decided to try the Avalon Organics Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Shampoo.
It was so good that I had to write about it. No build up, significantly less hair fall in the shower and very soft hair - I feel I have found my new favourite hair care range!
