I love supermarkets.. Be it huge hyper ones or the small neighbourhood ones... However this outlet of cold storage in takashimaya has been a life-saver to me for many occasions.

They sell everything.. from fresh fruits, canned stuffs, snacks and potato chips to beer, concentrates, sushi.... and hardware, sanitary ware, travel should haves and that is about everything you need....

I always love a cool snapple and you basically cannot get it anywhere else in takashimaya except cold storage. Though prices is slightly higher perhaps about 10-20% depending on the item as compared to other neighbourhood supermarket, but as compared to any other stores in orchard road, it is reasonable.

I visit the gym at the top level of ngee ann city (takashimaya) and theres this once i forgot my lock, and I went to look for it at the drugstore such as watsons and guardian and couldn't find a lock. As it was early, many shops are still closed but thank goodness i managed to find one at cold-storage, on top of that i was spoilt for choices as there are a few models available to choose from. With that, I also grabbed a couple of other things.. My fav. Meiji chocolate milk, a box of chewy muesli bar and a bottle of pocari sweat for my workout...

Great Store, Great Location and love the neatly stacked, properly arranged merchandises :)

Was tempted to make a pair of eye glasses whenever I walk past this shop during my not so frequent yet often sportswear spree in Queensway Shopping Centre. This is like a corridor shop, designed in such a way that the open concept made customers like me walk in without hesitation. I love the staff there as they are friendly and not bothersome. They allowed me to browse and try on the hundreds of designs eyeglasses on display, especially the quirky ones...

Love the various designs available. Mostly korean, if not japanese, you can find all sorts of rims, made of various materials such as wood, metal or plastic with all sorts of designs on the rims, color combination and function. You may buy them as it is, without lens or customize a lens with special functions or even made them into sunglasses.

The price is incredible... For less than S$100, you can make yourself a pair of nicely customized and fitted eye-glasses with that oh so fashionable frame complete with a super thin and lightweight lens in your power, enjoy a good and professional eye test and eye glass fitting.... (note.. this is a ADULT price, not a STUDENT price)

Its so quick.... Decide your frame, Do your Eye Test, Shop for 45 mins... Have a drink at macdonalds for 15 mins... Collect your brand new eye-glasses, do a fitting... adjust a little and you have a new pair of fashionable eye-wear :) One hour is all you need... Frankly... i think i spent more time choosing the frame :)

So, if you are looking for a pair of fashionable and economical eye-wear.. this is the place to go :)

Service is great and fuss free.... :)
    Price reasonable and economical..... :)
Location is easy to find... just walk around level 1.. its round the corridor near to the washroom and shopping mall convenient....... :)

Okay I know it sounds abit auntie to review this place thus revealing that I actually go there but where else can you find a 45min foot massage for $18 and not far from town too?

The store front looks a tad sleazy (haha!) because of their location and the set up is really really simple - just massage chairs for you to sit on and there's even no washing of feet (abit yucky for me), so you walk in, plonk on a chair, and get massaged.

The masseur whom I had was a Chinese lady Lili, who seems to have the knack for finding your sore spots. She has pretty strong hands too , which is very good for back massages.

The place is not your atas spas but for a cheap and good massage, I would recommend this place.

To be fair, I've only gone twice and both times I looked for the same masseur as I think she is quite good

My attempt to add the Malacca Street outlet failed despite multiple tries (the system just blanks out and refreshes the page as blank as if I am re-entering the new business again!) so I'll review this outlet instead.

All Browhaus-es are very similar in its look and feel and honestly unless you find a particular therapist you take a liking to, going to any other branches probably wont make too much of a difference in how your brows look after that.

Each session is quick, about 10mins for me as I have very very sparse brows. The therapist are usually friendly and civil, and have quite deft fingers.

I also try to do my upper lip threading together so I dont have to make my way there again, and that despite my being a seasoned 'threadee' is still ultra painful each time.

Combined with the brow threading, my face looks like I suffer from extreme allergies every time I leave the place.

But without fail, they will try to sell the brow resurrection every time I show up. It didnt seem to matter to them that the last time I got convinced enough to let their 'eyebrow master from hongkong' draw my brows to show me supposedly how the resurrection results will look like, my brows ended up lop-sided. And the master further tested my patience by telling me if I dont do it, I will be 没头没尾.

Dear browhaus: if you're trying to sell something to potential customers of your very expensive treatment ($1,200 for one-time plus $150 for every follow up required), dont insult them.

I was enticed by Her World's reader's promotion of a Gold Mask Facial Therapy at $35 (usual value of $200 ) I think, for which they also throw in a free eye or neck treatment, plus a 10min shoulder massage. I opted for both the eye and neck treatment which needs a top up of $15 so my total price is $50 . But of course for 1st timers only~

Booking - making the booking was easy as the ad came with a number to sms to, and a staff called to make an appointment after that. I made an appointment for a Friday evening 7:30pm.

Location - Apparently the appointment can only be for the Chinese Swimming Club outlet which is located at Amber Road, a relatively ulu location for me. Its not that far a walk from Parkway Parade, maybe 10-15mins? But please be warned that the club cafe doesnt allow non-members to dine there, even if you're a guest of the spa. The only other non-member option is Tung Lok Classics on the 3rd floor but that is mad expensive. For a cheaper option, eat at Marine Parade of Katong Shopping Centre if you want to eat before or after your appointment.

Service - you are ushered to a small room for a pre-treatment consultation which surprisingly doesnt involve any machines to analyze your skin condition; just based on visual impression. There you fill up a form with your particulars, any allergies etc.

Treatment - Treatment is done in a private room where you change into a standard robe. The treatment includes extraction (sometimes painful) with a steam machine. It also has a scrub, mask etc done with a machine. The eye treatment and neck treatment claims to moisturize and hydrate which worked quite well for me. Some steps include massaging with an aid of a machine to help the ingredients penetrate the skin better. The shoulder massage was average though. But I did like that my therapist, Carrie, was very gentle and detailed, including informing / warning me of the steps and that some masks etc can be quite cold.

Packages - The treatment was over in about 1hr 15mins and you're brought back to the same pre-treatment consultation room. Carrie then proceeded to 'sell' their packages but I liked that she was not at all hardselling but seem quite sincere about it in fact. She even offered to throw in 6 free eye treatment as goodwill. But at $2,250 for 30 sessions, it was too big an investment for me even though I felt a difference in my skin after that. They cut it down to half - 15 sessions for $1,125, but I still needed some (am still am) mulling over it. The installment plan doesnt incentivize me so much as its the total value is what I am considering.

But overall a much better experience than New York which hardsells you like crazy or say Touch Elite where the masseur fell asleep on me. Sad but yup, that's what is considered 'better' for me.

I'm a sucker for frozen yogurt (froyo), yes I admit it.. once i walk pass a froyo parlor, I can't help but get myself a cup... After trying so many different types of froyo with various flavours, texture and tartness.... My favorite is still YOGURU's Yoguberry... ( a slightly acidic mixture of Blue-berry and Acai-berry) highly potent stuffs... one of the highest anti-oxidant mixture that is both super nutritious and beautifying!

I like Yoguru's yogurt for many reasons:

    1) Flavors: The flavors they have are very healthy combinations such as pomegranate and red dragon fruit or my fav.. the blueberry/acai berry combination, strawberry / greentea... its all the good stuffs.

    2) Healthy Toppings: The choices of toppings are nuts, fruits, muesli, all the healthy and yummy choices.

    3) Sugar level in the yogurt is not too high.. While I tested the flavored yogurt, its brings forth the natural flavor of the fruits, the acidity and the tartness of the yogurt is just right.

    4) The yogurt is creamy and not icy.. I love creamy yogurt as you could taste more its flavor and its more hearty as it contains the right amount of air / water and yogurt.

    5) The way they make you cuppa yogurt, they don't weigh it or scrutinize the amount and as a customer, we always hope they give a little more...

    6) Pricing they are regularly priced... Not too expensive and similar to the other parlors, however as their yogurt is thicker and creamier, its more worth it.

So if you are also a yogurt lover like me... you must give yoguru a try.... Its really nice :)
Don't forget to collect your royalty round card and stamps...

I really like this outlet... The facilities are so new and the crowd is so different though I find the lonely 2 lifts that bring me up to the floor is soo slow and seemed to take ages to get up to the top floor where this outlet of the california fitness resides.

Though I find it smaller than the other outlets, they do have 2 halls whereby 2 classes can be held concurrently. The treadmills and other cardio machines are aplenty and best of all.... while you do your thing on the treadmill during the weekends, no one will bother you. I really hate it... Look I'm panting, I'm trying to catch my breath while attempting to break my record on the 10Km run with sweat dripping and heavy footsteps thumping, one of the personal trainers come along and try to hitch up a casual chat with you with an opening questions like " HI... How are you doing?" All I could do.. is to ignore him and wonder if his brains grow on his biceps... However my previous few visits, I don't have this problem... everybody's just doing their own things...

I do not see many stretching machines or equipment available however they do have some free weights chairs for you to do casual training. They have these really interesting spaces that are near to the window just in front of the treadmill which I find crampy at first yet so interesting.. There are members who bring their mats and do stretching at this areas... You have the privacy as few will walk around that area, its crampy yet so safe and you get a beautiful city view from the glass windows.

I must also mention the changing room... Its NICE.... The lockers are new with benches for you to seat and ample hair dryers at a few location, so you need not all huddle at one dressing island table. They also do provide tissue, cotton buds and cotton squares. The shower area is fabulous.. I love the floor tiles as they are comfy not sandy and not slippery even when wet. The drainage system for the shower rooms are outside the curtain as such you don't see the water flowing while you shower and it looked very seemless. The sauna and steambath is also powerful, quiet and clean...

This is a fantastic outlet... if you haven't been... this is the one you must visit...

Today I'm gonna spill the beans of my little secret. I've discovered this great hair stylist in a small neighbourhood mall nearby clementi mrt station in this tiny mall called CITY VIBE... Level 2 just on the left of the escalator.

I could still recall my first visit years back... in search of a new hair-stylist since my last one migrated, I would pop by any hair salon i fancy and get myself a new hairdo or a cut and while i scrutinized the end results, i would only lament on my ill-choices when I get home and wait for nature to grow out of the hairdo before trying a new one. My first visit to De-Hair Art was after my lunch at a restaurant on the same floor and I met TOM...

He was friendly and cheerful while he showed me to a seat and provided me with a few magazines while i wait to have a hairwash. He asked me how I would like my hair to be done and i briefly described what I wanted in a vague way (usually I'm not quite so sure of how i wanted my hair to look like). He then tell me what he will do and how the after effects will look like. I love his description as I could see so much flare and passion... After the hair wash which make me feel light headed, because of the very good head massage, he then proceeded to cut my hair.... He was fast... I mean fast and precise and while we chit-chat I could see portions of my hair dropping to the ground. His actions was firm as he had a good idea of what he was doing and had the flare of an ARTIST. After the cut, my hair was blown dry and a little more trimming was done.. then WAH LAH........ my perfect hair do... He also gave me tips on how I could style my hair and the look was so unique to my style and character. He even inspired me on the clothes and styles I could do with my hair, provided me with info on future colours that suits my style, I was impressed.

Such flare we usually don't see in a neighbourhood salon... After my first cut with him... I've decided not to go anywhere else. The price.. I must say is reasonable for a salon and professional cut such as his. However, he is pretty popular, so be prepared to call up to make an appointment. He seldom entertains walk-ins because he is usually fully booked and he does commit his full attention and completes your hair before moving on to the next customer even if the waiting customers is complaining ( I really like this).

If you are visiting, be sure to look for TOM.. His other colleagues are pretty good in skill and are all friendly and pleasant, however, cutting/trimming/perming/coloring/ dressing up our hair is different for everyone. If you like a hairstylist with ideas, passion and flare that is both fast and creates a great style according to your personality, TOM is the guy to go for....

Located in the basement in the middle of nowhere :) This outlet is consistently packed with people during lunchtime, or sometime even when they just started which is about 10:30am.

Like all GongCha, the menu is the same and my favourite is non-other then the winter melon tea with creme. I love the sweetness and the slightly caramalized taste of the wintermelon tea coupled with a nice dolop of creme on top making it creamy and milky. Service is fast as usual and I love the fact that they put your order on a sticker onto each cup and the "How to Enjoy your tea" Instructional guide which provides simple instructions to better enjoy your cuppa tea. Though I find it expensive for a cup of tea, they made it seemed worth it as the presentation and the utensils used makes it hygiene and convenient.

Service is fast, this i must say and while i observed, they seldom gets the order wrong though its crowded with people, in the stall and out of the stall.... Its fast food kinda beverage which is perfect for this fast generation :)

I was walking around the fabulously large new wing of plaza singapura and found a farmiliar scent. Laline has opened its doors at the new wing of this iconic shopping mall. I was excited as I stepped into this classically designed outlet that somewhat makes one feel so clean.

The friendly staff offered me to try on some of their products and I liked it all. The scrubs especially were very moisturizing and the scent lingered for a long time. I love the way they generously offers you trial of almost all of their products and the retails were priced very reasonably. While reading the content, I spotted some really good stuffs such as chamomile extracts, olive oils, castor oils, etc.

I also liked the bath accessories available in the shop. They do have all sorts of bath brushes, bath related displays / storage and even bathrobes made in clean and beautiful designs. I appreciate their effort in bringing the wonderful range and bath culture of the middle east available for your own home indulgence.

    I bought a few products:
    1) Body Souffle Travel Size: S$13.90 in Ocean Ocean Flavour. I love the texture and the scent is extremely floral yet subtle and last for a long time

    2) Creme De La Creme 200ml whipped body cream: S$29.90 in Cocktail Tropical flavour. I love the fact that body cream can be whipped like whip cream. They do also have the shower foam in whip cream. The concept is great, the smells lingered on. Beautiful scent however its abit sticky when applied yet it is quickly absorbed later.

    3) Ocean Ocean Body Lotion 60ml travel size S$9.90: I love the ocean ocean scent and the body cream is much thinner and easier to apply on then the souffle. Great for after gym showers as the scent is mild yet long lasting.

    4) Vanilla Body Lotion 60ml travel size S$9.90: It smelt more of coconut, which is not something i really like. It absorbs quickly into the skin and is a pleasant and soothing lotion to be applied. Coconut is actually very nourishing, except for its sweet scent, I'm not such a fan of this one.

Great service, you really get to try almost everything before you buy and the scent is really LONGLASTING.... Just hop in for a free trial which is both stress free and even if you don't buy anything, somehow they made me feel that they are so happy to give me a free trial. 5Stars for their excellent service. Before I forgot.. I got a free rose too... Its the valentine's day period and they give away these beautiful roses.. So what are you waiting for... Pop by today :)

So my advice is to go for a free trial and then smell the lingering scent on your hand for the whole day then you will be like me... You can't help but pop by to buy something every other day. Especially when there is a good promo going on... :) Have fun :)
