just had my dinner tdy with my gf at this outlet of the Soup Spoon. It was my first time eating this though I had passed by several times before. There were quite a number of soups to suit different taste buds and I was quite spoilt for choice cos all looked yummy to me, especially when I was quite hungry.
In the end, I chose to have a clam chowder in a bread bowl, meaning that the soup was served in abread shaped as a bowl. In addition, I ordered a fisherman's seafood basket as well. The soup was nice and creamy, unlike some places whereby the soup is more akin to those Campell's instant soup in a can. The bread used was sour bread and it went down well with the soup. As for the seafood basket, the spreadhad a couple of shrimps, calamari, fish and fried scallops. The taste was quite ncie as well but hwoever I found it a bit oily though.
Overall, I found that the food is quite tasty and the price is considered resonable given its location. However, seats are quite limited and therefore it would be best to avoid going there during peak periods.
Had a bit of supper at this tim sum restaurant along Jalan Besar the other day. If some of you can recall, this restaurant used to have its own commercial on TV but not sure if its still available now.
Anyway, I ordered one basket of Chicken feet, one Chicken glutinous rice, one plate of char siew pastry and one fried wanton. Sad to say, though this place had been around for many years, the standard simply is unacceptable. Firstly, the quantity given is simply pathetic and the food didn't come piping hot as it should be. The taste of the food ain't that great either. Worse, the price is quite unreasonable as well. As compared to the Mong Kok Tim Sum at Geylang, which i wrote a review on previously, the difference is so vast and I definitely wnt go back to this Swee Choon again.
Was there with ploarbear to eat at this outlet of suki sushi during our lunch. As he mentioned, the place is quite concealed insides an almost empty building and if one would almost definitely miss the shop if you had nt been there before.
Me being an avid fan of sushi and sashimi, found this place to be a raw deal. The plates of sushi were going at only 99 cents each as well as the chawamushi. And the more expensive ones would be going from 2.99 onwards. As compared to Sakae Sushi, the price was definitely more reasonable and the taste of the food was comparable, thou Sakae Sushi is slightly better for some of them.
But my best food would be the salmon sashimi. The slices of the raw fish were thick and fresh, unlike those from Sakae, thou fresh as well, but were much smaller in terms of size and the price was higher as well.
Overall, I would say that the meal was definitely worth the money we paid, abt 50 bucks for 4 persons eating almost 30 plus of the sushi. I would definitely recommend this place for those living near AMK central to go and give it a try.
Has eaten many times at this oulet of Ajisen Ramen as it is near my home and after my meal can go Bugis for some window shopping.
My fav Ramen is always the Tonkusen Ramen, whick comes with half a egg, 3-4 slices of the Char Siew and the nice but slightly fatty pork ribs, which is boiled till it is very soft and can eaten with the bones as well. Add on the volcano sauce for another two bucks and the taste is just superb!! Top that up with a bit of the chopped onions and chilli powder and the soup will taste even better. Just thinkg abt it makes me go yummy again!!!!
But one bad thing abt this outlet is that it does get rather cramped during peak periods and sometimes you are just too close with your neighbours for comfort. Either of you can really hear each other's conversation loud and clear. Other than that, I would say that the food is quite alright and is located at a very convenient place
Was brought to this place by my collegaues last Friday. It was my first time there as I seldom passed by that area. Inside, its the more traditional setting of an Indian restaurant, instead of a more modern feel like that of Komala's.
There were many different types of prata available, that really made you spoilt for choice. There are the traditional kosong, egg, onion and the more special ones such as prata with babana, prata with chocolate, etc, and the murtabak types as well.
Me decided to go for the traditional ones as I did not really liked those specialities pratas. ALso, we ordered a small fish curry as well.. The food came nice and hot and prompt.
Would recommend this place for those who like to eat pratas. The price is quite reasonable and the food tastes good as well. Feel that it it worth the money and would definitely go back there again with my friends.
feizhusaid: They need to do something about cooking the prata in an airconditioned environment. The floor is so slippery that I can literally skid on it lol 30 Oct 2007 at 10:43 pm
