Previously I had tried seafood platters at other restaurants before and they were quite a large serving.
Although it says for 2, it is sufficient for 3 or even 4 if we do not have large appetite.
So we ordered a seafood platter for 1 and another one for 2, sharing among the 5 of us.(:
The waiting time was quite long though, but since it's a platter, I guess it's understandable?
True enough, the platter was enough for the 5 of us, although we weren't very full, it's enough to fill our stomach just right.
Each seafood platter is served on a bed of paella rice and chips.
The platter for 1 includes tiger prawns, dory fillet, and calamari.
While the platter for 2 has tiger prawns, dory fillet, calamari and blue mussels in garlic lemon butter sauce.
Really love the tiger prawns for that they are fresh and sweet, and it is made in a way that its easy for us to detach it from its shell, with just fork and spoon ;D
The dory fillet are also fresh and it’s not too dry, the calamari was not bad too. :D
The fries and rice are normal.
In terms of the amount, the seafood platter for 2 has 10 tiger prawns which are really pretty large.
The size of the dory fillet is average, though I’m wishing for it to be bigger in size since I’m a fish lover ;D
The amount of calamari was really a lot, my friends who finished it said they are super full from it.
The mussels are gone in seconds, but the amount is reasonable.(:
As for the rice and fries, it’s quite normal and just right.
And for the seafood platter for 1, basically the items are different by half. 5 tiger prawns, almost half the amount of calamari, dory and rice.
Overall it’s quite worth it if you are a seafood lover with the prawns and mussels. It's about $14 for each of us sharing.
It was my first time trying this drink: lemon aloe vera. It costs $2.30 per cup. Glad that the waiting time was quite fast.(:
When ordering, they did not ask for my preferred sugar level, but luckily the drink wasn't too sweet..instead its more of sour.
It actually had quite an equal combination of sweetness and sourness.
It's a refreshing drink, supposing its a healthier choice compared to other flavours? ;D
One dislike is that the amount of aloe vera in the drink is meagre..I could hardly eat the aloe vera.
Initially I thought probably it will be left after the drink was finished but there was hardly any left after finishing my drink, so that's quite a disappointment.
Overall it's still quite acceptable, nice tasting drink but requires improvement on the amount of topping given.(:
Passion fruit red tea Bought the passion fruit red tea with pearls, and was quite disappointed with the taste. The shop looks similar to those of gong cha and drink tea, so I was expecting at least an equivalent standard to those bubble tea shops. I bought it in the medium size and it cost $2.90. I felt it taste nothing special and it is similar to the taste of passion fruit red tea I got from normal bubble tea shops like sweet talk. It was a little plain and the pearls are not as nice too. So I felt that it is not worth it to spend the higher price to get it here, would rather buy it at normal bubble tea shops.
Bought the bowl of cakes with mixed carrot cake and yam cake, and it cost $3. Firstly on the portion, it was fair and we were very full after we finished the whole bowl;D
As for the taste, it was pretty good too! I like it for how it is soft and can be easily consumed. It even seems to melt a little in your mouth.(: There were the fried shallot onions too, which made the carrot and yam cakes more palatable and fragrant.
Just the cakes themselves without any sauce, the flavour is really rich…and not too sweet or salty, at just the right taste. Changing the flavour slightly with the chili sauce or the sweet sauce, it still taste as delicious:D However, we got a little tired of it when we almost finished the whole bowl, probably because it is made of flour afterall? But overall it was a nice dish which could fill us up for lunch.(:
Curry puff ! Super damn love the curry puff here^^ All the other curry puffs I tried from other stalls can never replace the ones from old chang kee;D
Here at old chang kee, the curry puff skin is always crispy and the thickness is just right, could nicely taste the fried taste.
The curry filling in it was simply remarkable, not too spicy and is full of flavour.(: Ingredients include potatoes, chicken and quarter of hard boil egg;D It is delicious, such that I could not find any words that could fully describe how well it tastes. $1.30 for a yummy curry puff that can nicely satisfy craves for food, definitely worth it!;D

Super damn love the curry puff here^^
All the other curry puffs I tried from other stalls can never replace the ones from old chang kee;D
Here at old chang kee, the curry puff skin is always crispy and the thickness is just right, could nicely taste the fried taste.
