Everytime I visit Sakae Sushi, I will always order at least one plate of Salmon Sashimi;D Although I love salmon sashimi, some places ones are not really up to standards and I don’t like it. It is different here at Sakae Sushi;D the sashimi here is so fresh and nice!(:
I’m a salmon lover so I would order most salmon dishes available. We ate the buffet dinner where we get unlimited colour plates, one pink plate, and one red plate dishes. It also includes one bowl of udon and dessert ice cream each. As for the udon, I felt it was not really nice as the soup was quite bland. Another dish I love there is the salmon karaage. It is so crispy and delicious. Even though the salmon was fried, the freshness of the salmon still stayed within the dish. Totally love it:D
We also love the Tempura Cheese Maki, which was on the pink plate. It was Tempura Ebi prawn with cheese wrapped in rice and outer of egg crepe. It was simply delicious that we ate up 3 plates of it;D
Auntie Anne’s pretzels is nice!;D Especially the cinnamon sugar, chocolate mint and the green tea flavour. The pretzels are crispy and delicious. The cinnamon sugar flavour smells good and taste delicious, and the flavouring is always so generously flavoured on top of the pretzel.(: As for the green tea pretzel, the flavouring was made with real green tea and as such, it may be a little bitter, but I still liked it:D
Everytime I walk pass an Auntie Anne’s shop, the nice and strong aroma would tempt me into buying it :x Although it may be quite expensive for a pretzel with flavouring which cost $2.70, I felt it was worth it…no harm pampering ourselves a little once in a while:D
It was my Aunt’s 50th birthday and all of us celebrated her birthday at this restaurant. We decided on the set menu ‘B’ which cost $308 for 8-10 person, 8 course dinner.(: The menu includes shark’s fin, abalone, red snapper, prawns etc.
Me and my cousin love the fried prawn balls with salad. This dish is large prawn cooked into ball-like shape and is mixed with the salad mayonnaise sauce. I totally love this dish the most as the prawns are big and fresh, fried to crispiness, and the taste is really awesome;D They have complimentary longevity buns for us as they are aware that we are celebrating birthday:D
We also ordered extra of black pepper crab and chilli crab.^^v We always love pepper crab and we are indulging on the black pepper crab. I felt that the crabs are nice but still requires improvements. However I still felt it was pretty worth it to visit this restaurant for a big feast, most of their dishes are tasty and fresh, with standards.(:
They were having an hourly special promotion of buy any four items for $4. I saw that they have a variety of flavours of egg tarts so I decided to try some of them out, such as the chocolate, durian and the Portuguese egg tarts. They also have other pastries such as the char siew su and others.
However when I approached the counter then did they tell me the promotion includes only original flavour and coffee flavour egg tarts, and some other pastries only. The special flavours egg tarts that are more expensive are not included. I was quite disappointed at this but I still went ahead to buy 3 original and 1 coffee. I felt that the egg tarts are ok and nothing really special, I would rather buy the egg tarts from elsewhere which cost lower than the original price of the egg tarts here.
Maybe other products of their are worth the buy though.(:
The crispy fish:D This is my first time trying ximen’s food. I saw the fried fish and thought of trying that as I found it unique.(: Other shops I would normally find only the fried chicken. It was fried on the spot when I ordered and it was not long before it is ready.
They also provided a small container of mayonnaise to dip the fish. I really like the fish as it is tender and fresh;D The fish is smooth and nice flavouring of chilli and plum powder. The outer layer is also fried to crispiness.(: The amount of fish is reasonable for the price of $4, worth it !:D
