This stall opens till 10pm at night. It's good for those who work late in the city area.

What I like about this fish soup is 1. The EGG FLOSS, which looks damn oily and fattening BUT it does not stain the soup with oil. The soup still taste simple and soothing.

    2. The SOUP BASE, one look at it you will know it's brewed with fish bones. The soup has a very nice fragrant of fish and very rich in protein!

    3. The TONNES OF VEGE, as a health concious person, the healthy fish soup has lotsa crunchy vege that really compliments the soup.

Moreover, this stall offers sambal fish, prawns and sotong. These dishes are slightly unhealthy but goes well with the fish soup when you are really hungry.

Personally I only like the sotong because it's a hassle to eat the prawns when they are soaked in sambal sauce and you have to peel the skin while the fried fish becomes soggy when soakd in the sambal sauce.

Cost? $20 with change for 2 person ordering 2 fish soups and 1 sambal dish.

I have a sudden craving for fried fish bee hoon and i remember that there is one rather popular fish bee hoon store in china square. I decided to go just right there although i am unsure if they are still open on a Saturday late noon.

When i reach the China Square food court, there are practically not a single person seen having their meal, perhaps due to the long past lunch time. Since i am already at the food court itself, i decided to just walk over and check out if the store is still open at this time.

Guess what? They are one of the stall that is still open during this hour. Without any delay, i ordered one bowl of fried fish bee hoon.

Their fried fish bee hoon is rather different from the other types of fried fish bee hoon. Take for example, its soup is not white or milky in colour (no milk is added) and tastes good (without fishy taste). Believe that they uses fresh ingredients and long brewing time to produce this tasty soup.

Another special ingredient that they added into this fried fish bee hoon is the fried egg. This fried egg is done without me realizing that is an egg as its does not show the white and yellow part of an egg. Instead, its the golden strips winded together. Rather interesting to me as this is my first time to see such things.

The fish meat that they gave are pretty big chunk in size but it tastes pretty normal to me. Will definitely go back and try their fried fish bee hoon again if im around that area. :)

Actually the traditional teochew way of cooking fish soup entails adding egg into the soup. Its just that people are avoiding it cause of the high cholestral.

Located at China Square food centre, this fried fish soup stall was formerly located at Blanco Court ( The present Raffles Hospital ) and that is why the name remain as Blanco Court fried fish soup.

I frequent this stall during the blanco court time with my collegues. It was so delicious that I can even take the same food for a few consecutive days. There was no queue at all ( because queuing is not neccessary at that time ) but you can see almost every table with at least one person waiting for it. The soup was tasty and the fried fish is fresh.

At China Square, you can still see many ppl queuing for it, but somehow I find that the standard drop slightly. It is still tasty as compared to other stalls who try to inmitate it. But the soup is less tasty now and the fried fish is not as crispy as previously.

However, I still like this until I can find something better.

The fish wasn't fresh the last time I ate it. Nothing compared to when they were still at Blanco court.
