Been to this outlet twice during lunch and twice I didnt have good dining experience.
1. No one will greet you at the door; you help yourself to the seat.
2. You have to franctically get a service waiter to help you with the order. I think they didnt have enough waiter/waitresses or they all decide to huddle in another corner. (the layout in bishan is an L shaped)
3. We got service waiter who can only converse in Chinese. So, we ended up talking like chicken and duck. Please, do spare a thought to your non-chinese customers, Cafe Cartel. By hiring someone who can't speak decent English, it means that you dont value your non-chinese customers.
4. Bread always run out. Called it free flow but it's never there. When asked, they will say its in the oven. Huh.. Shouldn't they be more proactive - it's lunch time! Bake more.
5. Condiments such as chilli sauce runs out at 11am not even during peak hours; means they didnt top up the condiments. And, you have to get the waiter to help you with that. (got back to point 2)
6. My fren order this pork dish (forgot the name). It came onlyafter the rest of us has completed our main meal. But the portion is big :)
So, that's my review. Same old experience twice.

After trying out twice for lunch, I just felt that each experience wasn't that fantastic. While the food was not that bad, it was the service that was less than acceptable.
1. Water was never re-filled. 2. All the servers have blind spots. 3. Any drink that is to be served later always arrived after asking for the 3rd time. 4. Starters arrived after the main course. 5. Main course too a long time to arrive. I thought they were going to look for some pig and kill it. After that, process the meat before serving it. 6. The free flow bread often runs out in less than a minute. 7. The tobasco sauce is often left less than half a bottle. It's usually one bottle left available.
The place wasn't that crowded for a Thursday. I would understand if all of the above happened during weekend peak hours.
