Cat Socrates (Bras Basah Complex)

A shop full of pretty things ranging from handmade leather pouches to pretty printed and carefully embroidered table cloths. The shop houses many pretty things, specially crafted by artist that produces in small lots as such many items are unique and you may not find them anywhere else.

Love the decorations on the shop, the eye catching vintage bike in white and blue parked outside the shop with a wooden bench to seat and read is enticing for curious cats like me. The sweet panoramic voice singing in French as i entered the shop seemed to quite fit the theme of the interior decorations of this pretty and characteristic shop. While I looked upon these beautifully displayed items categorized from artist to artist I felt I have been brought back to the small book shop at a backstreet in Florence. Many things caught my eye...

1) Leather bounded Note books / Diaries - I love note books and to scribble, as they felt more real than my mobile phone. Here you can find a good selection of notebooks, be in real or faux leather and I've found some in fabric as well as tape binded... Really interesting

2) Cat Bow Ties - Found these pretty pet collar which i assume is for cats that came in bow ties and little tiny ties in printed fabric.

3) A selection of CD compilations in French - These selections sounded great, at least the one that is playing on the background sounded soothing and I feel immediately artistic - fied...

4) Post Cards - Found many interesting postcards with interesting pictures and slogans... Though i do not collect them yet I wish I have started to do so.

5) Air Plants - Yes i found living things... beautiful little air purifiers landscaped to look like a real jungle :)

I will be back to explore more.... but photography is prohibited in the shop as such i've provided some pics of the outside so you could easily recognise it... Love the place
