My family and I spent 4D3N on a Royal Caribbean Mariners of the Sea cruise to Malaysia last February 2014. We really had fun as a family and everything is smooth sailing. It was our first time to go on a cruise holiday and it’s so funny that we dont have any idea on what to do or even what rooms to choose.

Thanks to Nelson for helping us while we were planning for our trip! He gave us suggestions about what cabin type of rooms to pick according to our budget and need. He also gave a few reminders and tips on what essential items to bring during the trip.

Aside from bringing credit cards for onboard shopping, we also had some USD cash because it is the currency accepted in the cruise. There is a memorabilia shop inside that sells stuff like mugs, caps, shirts. If I remember correctly the cost is around 15USD and up. Every day, there is also some photo taking sessions with the mascots of Madagascar and Shrek and I tell you, my kids really really love that. Every day, there is a specific timing for one mascot to go out and take photos with the guests. So we always wait patiently because there's always a queue.

Food is never a problem because there is a daily buffet breakfast & lunch. While dinner is served according to a schedule given to guests.

There are many activities to do inside the Royal Caribbean Mariners of the Sea. In the morning we jog at the top deck where the running track is located. There's also swimming pool, jacuzzis, gym, basketball court, pingpong tables, rock climbing.

After dinner, there's always a live performance at the Savoy Theater. The singers and dancers are great. Even the director/host of the show is lively and funny. Entertainment is spectacular. The most memorable part is when they performed a 70’s music at the hallway. It was a night to remember because everyone is singing and dancing.

With all the great memories we had during our first cruise, we met new friends & we expanded our relationship as a family. We will definitely go on a cruise again.
