A walk back in time to see how the prisoners of war lived during the Japanese Occupation of Singapore in 1942-1945.
Reminds you of the brevity of life and the folly of war, especially in the way humans treat one another; all because of the ambitions of a single person in power.
If you would like a audio narration/ tour, the fee is S$8.00. You will receive a portable audio set to explain the exhibits as you go along.
Sometimes it is good to reflect on what happened in the past so that you can appreciate the present better. Another sombre thought is that all the men and women who died in the war is now mostly forgotten by many of us today. The well preserved identity cards and letters they wrote makes it all seem like it just happened recently. And to think that it was close to 60 years ago that they faced the ordeal. Much reflection to be done here.
