    Hi Gals,

I'm working at Shenton Way area, and I been to Choeur Hair Salon a few times for their hair services. At first I was attracted to the salon ambience as I walked passed one day. I think Sleeksilhouette is refering to Tony, he is also my hairstylist. Tony is the best hairstylist I'm with so far, or else I wouldn't have gone back to him....until he left the salon around June/July 2009. I was shocked and upset about it. I tried asking the staffs at the salon for his contact, but they refuse to tell me and persuaded me to stay on with the salon and they will give me a special discount. The salon soon changed its name to Hairclub 52. I decided to try my luck with the director, but I didn't like the way he do my hair, so after 1 try, I give up. I don't mind paying high charges for hairdo, but I always make sure what I paid for is worthwhile. Sans Serif, I think you should clarify this as this will affect someone's business if you only mentioned the salon's name and not the hairstylist. I remember they only changed the salon name around August/September 2009 which was my first visit. Sleeksilhouette, do you know where is Tony working now? Did he set up a new salon somewhere? If possible please give me his contact no. Thank you!!

      Hi San Serif,

I'm shocked to come across this forum about Choeur hair salon. I'm sorry to hear about your experience, but I'm also curious how you get to know this salon at club st.

My hairstylist used to be the partner of this hair salon, but left the business in late June, so I presume the hairstylist that did your hair could be my hairstylist ex-partner. Now that the salon at club st is taken over by the ex-partner, the salon name had changed. Its no longer called Choeur anymore. Cos my hairstylist is setting up on his own , and he told me he will be using back the same name "Choeur".

I'm here to clarify this cos Choeur hair salon will no longer be at club st. My hairstylist used to work in various high end salon like Kim Robinson, Casey Inc...He even worked in Netherlands and Japan. I have been following him for couple of years, and I'm very please with his skill and services.

In order not to mistaken who is that hairstylist whom you had bad experience with, and also to help those in this forum not to encounter the same bad experience as you, it would be best if you can mention his name, while I'll help to find out what's the new name for that salon at club st. :)

I must say I was impressed when I first stepped into this salon for a regular wash, blow-dry and haircut. The stylists looked polished and I felt as though I'd found a new salon that I could frequent. I did have a good conversation with the lead stylist, but sadly it could not make up for the lack of skill - I wasn't too pleased with having my hair being painfully tangled up in a brush while it was being blow-dried. It took a good 3 minutes to get my hair untangled. This was appalling as I had gone in with very smooth silky hair and emerged from the salon with dry, stiff hair. It was a disappointment that I paid $70 for.

On another occasion, I went in to see if I could purchase a couple bottles of Schwarzkopf shampoo and conditioner and to my utter disgust, I was turned away by one of the stylists tending the counter. He advised me to purchase a cheaper range from a "cheaper neighbourhood place". My attire for that day was casual, as it was a friday. But I didn't see that as being a valid reason for snubbing a customer.

I think some neighbourhood salons do a better job of welcoming customers with courtesy and good manners, and they are just as skilled, if not better. I'll not be stepping into Choeur again anytime soon...

Sounds like a terrible experience! You poor thing. Where is this salon located? I will make sure to give it a wide berth.
