My family and I loved Indian food and we were glad that our Indian friends intro us to this restaurant. The location was great, parking ample and restaurant was clean and well service was smilingly friendly and efficient. Well we loved indian food however the menu was pretty foreign to us as some of the north dishes are not common here in SG.
While we browse through, the staff was kind enough to advise us on what is famous and yummy, as such we ordered much as he recommended.
1) Vada Pav ($13) which is a Potato fritters hamburger with chef's special garlic sauce arrived in a pair and was particularly yummy. The patty was thick and well spiced but is pretty filling for an appetizer.
2) Dhaba Daal (Yellow/Black) ($10.50) which is Lentils "dum-cooked" and finish with sauteed garlic, coriander and roasted cumin, which tasted savoury and went well with my Naan. I had to order the Daal as its one of the must haves in my Indian food adventure. It was not so spicy, slighly creamy and easy to eat.
3) Mushroom Mattar ($10) which is a combination of mushrooms and green peas simmered in Indian spices. This is one of my favourites as the texture was good. Creamy yet not too strong goes a long way with my favourite garlic naan ($3)
4) Lime Soda (Salty) - ($5) had such a wow factor, matter of fact we always have sweet yet the salty option added a good punch to the Freshly squeezed lime soda. It was refreshing and the salt balanced the tanginess yet the fizz of the soda gave the extra omph. Great drink, loving it.
4) Kulfi Falooda ( Mango) - ($8) is something like Potong ice cream to me yet creamier and healthier. Usually home made with fresh milk, this dessert is the favourite among north indians and needed a certain good skill and fresh ingredients to make it happen. It tasted like frozen yogurt yet more icy and a little sweet. Mango taste was not strong but natural and had a good sandy crunch to it. Enjoyed this tremendously but still have to be an aquired taste for indian food.

Indian fast food! (I don't know if it's North or South though, I don't know how to tell the difference.)
When we talk about "fast food", we normally think of KFC, Macs etc. Maybe this is like the very common indian fast food restaurant. But I'd say they have way better service and food than KFC/ Mac (ok, price is way higher too..).
When I stepped into the restaurant and looked at the menu, I felt rather weird because the waiter was standing in front of my table waiting to take orders. But being my first time there, I was totally at lost! I didn't know how to order at all! One of the waiters then brought a photo album over to my table to make it easier for us to order (I think he realized our dilemma, especially after we took so long..). When we finally made our choice, I felt abit embarrassed that we took so long. But it was good to see that the waiter still took down your orders very patiently. I must say they are good sales people too! They ask if you wanna try anything else and all, without sounding pushy at all. In fact, you'd feel totally comfortable with the way they recommend other dishes for you to try and all.
I like the service here. They also make sure that their customers are enjoying their food and do go to tables once in awhile to ask if they enjoy their food. It's almost like the service you get at 5-star restaurants! (I'm not kidding..)
Food wise, I think I don't really know if it's good or not as I don't have any basis of comparison. I felt that the Tandoori Chicken tasted a bit like Satay but it went well with this green sauce thing. I liked the Pepper Chicken Masala. It goes very well with this dosa-like thing (I really don't know what they're called). But the chicken was very little. Nonetheless, it tasted good!
On the whole, I had a great time there even though I don't quite know what I was eating half the time! But the service and the food was good. I would love to go back another time, but after finding out how to order. Haha..
