Ya I had the same encounter. I dropped by the store with the intention to get a pair of toric lens and when I approached the sales lady (late-thirties or early fourties, long hair), she looked at me blankly and just shake her head without any replies. (I thought she was signalling to me that she is deaf or dumb ). So, I asked her what does she mean by that? Then did she open her mouth to say that she does not have an optometrist in the store. Now I shoke my head back at her and gave her a ridiculous glare into her eyes. Out of anger, she ask me to visit other optical shop I can find in causewaypoint, and see if I can find an optometrist. Well in the end, she lost a customer who is glad to spend $500 plus in purchase. I just hope their business will close down for good if they treat customers so badly and introduce them to their competitors. I was a regular customer a few years back and was very disappointed in their downgrading customer service.

Recently, there was an Acuvue promotion whereby you can get a free trial of a 2-weeks oasys acuvue contact lens. But you have to call up the optical shop to book an appointment to go there to have a checkup and pay a designated fee before they hand you the contact lens.
I called up Eastchamp Optics and enquire about what time i could go over and if it was fine in the late afternoon. The lady who picked up my call didn't even know how to speak English and handed the phone to another lady, who spoke really very rudely to me on the phone. She claimed that their shop didn't have any optometrist at that time, which is insanely ridiculous, how can a shop not have a optometrist at any time? I didn't take things hardly and said that I could head over the next day for the eye check, but the lady refused and called me to call Johnson's and johnson's(acuvue sponser i guess) to ask whereelse i could head to.
And she just hung up the phone and left me dead on the line.
Woah.
