1 Review for “Etna Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria (Lau Pa Sat) ” - Restaurants
130
We were looking for a place with 1-for-1 lunch promo in Raffles Place, when we saw this outlet (UOB credit card). It is hiding at one corner in Lau Pa Sat and looks to be not-cheap. So we called and ask for the average price and confirmed that it is within out budget before we go. I must say if not for the 1-for-1 selected pasta & pizza, it's a bit ex for lunch (above $20 for the pizza or pasta).
Initially, we were a bit reluctant to come to this outlet, as we saw on Yebber as well as other food websites, the fairly-bad review focusing on the bad service of the East Coast outlet of the same name (assume is the same group). But we still decide to try it out, for something different (we do not know where else to look for nice and cheap and nearby Italian food for lunch).
But when we were in, the service was acceptable. At least when we asked to change table just when the food starts coming, the staff had no questions and start helping us to take the plates to the other table.
For the 1-for-1, only 5 pastas were allowed (out of their many pasta selection). The clam white wine that I had was good (they gave me a small bowl for the clam shells, looks cute when besides my big plate of pasta), but the plain tomato based pasta looks so small serving (esp with the big plates).
For the 1-for-1, all pizzas are allowed (i think so) and the portion is so big that 2 ladies in my group could only barely finish half.
Taking about the place, they have 2 sections, one looks like a permanent establishment, while the other which we are in, looks like an extension built with wood and glass and leaves (haha, maybe just an impression). But the extension that we are in, do feel a little hot, maybe because they use individual aircon and not sort of central airconditioning in buildings. It probably will give better feel for dinner, then for lunch.
