Feng Zhen Lor Mee (Taman Jurong Market & Food Cen)

Lor Mee is quite an acquired taste for me, though this flat yellow noodles in braised dark brown gooey sauce is pretty much a delicacy you can find only in Singapore, making it yummy takes quite alot of skill and preparation and the aunties at feng zhen did quite a fantastic job.

I used to call it glue noodles yet after a long time of disliking the strong tasting sauce, I managed to take a sip at my mum's bowl of Lor Mee, half wondering why they come here every weekend and queue for 20 mins to get this bowl of so called delicacy and I fell in love with it too.

Its mostly noodles with bits of braised pork with fried minced pork balls, spray of fish meat (yummy option), bean sprouts and loads of minced raw garlic. The noodles cooked to the right texture while the gravy was aromatic and raw minced garlic gave the Ooomph!!! Loving it clash of musky and spicy taste.

They also do serve many other stuffs like fried hokkien noodle which is exceptionally nice when you ask them to add an additional egg, laksa and you don't have to eat lor mee with the flat yellow noodles, you can opt for bee hoon or anything else. Service is pretty fast as a long queue of 10 persons only took 20 mins to digest. The aunties are one of the most graceful, friendly and happy bunch of hawker ladies I have ever met.

Great food, super good prices and the ingredients generous and fresh. I hope they stay forever.
