1 Review for “Fika Swedish Cafe & Bistro ” - Restaurants

I happened to stumble upon the place while walking around Arab street. At the time it was still 1 week old and the menus aren't really filled up fully yet. (At the time the NETS machine was not up yet, so I just had enough cash to get a main course and desserts.)
When you enter, the place via the entrance facing Beach Road, you'll be greeted with cakes and dessert on display right next to the entrance. For cake lovers, its a sight few can resist checking out.
Due to the limitations of cash payments, I had a ribeye steak with cream sauce right away instead of having the soup of the day (Wild mushrooms). I had to say, the sauce was excellent. It was definitely something new. Had a taste of cheddar cheese, pepper and what nots that made it unique. The steak itself was cooked well while still retaining the juices. Though there are other places that has better steaks, I can't seem get the taste of the cream outta my mind and have been craving for it again every other day. A very, very delightful combination and I'd highly recommend it to any steak/cheese lovers out there.
For desserts, I had a Swedish pancake, topped with strawberry sauce and sugar icings. The pancakes are nice but I'd prefer them served with ice cream. They're soft, tastey and definitely worth a try. The other dessert that I tried was the apple crumble. Served with vanilla ice cream, this crumble was a mouthful. The apple fillings are warm and not-so-sweet. Fillings are generous too. One of those nicer apple crumbles around.
The decor of the place was simple and colour theme is white/pearl. It gives kinda more of the chill out with simplicity feel. It'd have been better if the place was slightly spacious and comfortable chairs.
I'd definitely come back to this place to have that steak again and try their new items on the menu (especially desserts). Price range was rather affordable (40 for a complete starter-main-desserts meal) and staffs are friendly.
Thumbs up!
