Food Republic is one place I often avoid. The food is very expensive despite its wide variety. And the place is always packed with curious customers. It's always difficult to find a seat and when you are eating, people keep watching you finish your food and not mentioning people walking around brushing against you when they look for seats.

We are all sick of eating set meals. Thus my dad bought ala carte food from the curry rice stall instead of the stipulated set consisting of meat, vege & egg.

He ordered one vege side and a fish on a plate of white rice topped with curry gravy. He was charged $7.50.

    The receipt read:

    Vegetable x1 $1.00 Fish x2 $6.00 2 @ $3.00 Rice x1 $0.50 Total $7.50

Dad explained that he pointed to the chef in white cap an order of vege and an order of fish. However, the lady cashier counted the fish as 2 pieces simply because it was broken into 2 pieces when scooping it from the main dish.

As a typical Singaporean, we didn't really make a big fuzz out of it to avoid trouble. Dad just paid up unwillingly. We just swear that we won't ever go back to that stall that's all...

Poor me gotta hear dad's nagging all the way home.

Lesson learnt : Just stick with set meals. :(

Food Republic (VivoCity) - Eating Places   Food Republic (VivoCity) - Eating Places

      Last Sunday, 25 May 2008.

Hubby and I was looking for food at vivocity. Yes, Vivocity again! lols. I had craving for Korean food again. Yes, again! So we decide to check out the food court at lvl 3.

It's very difficult to look for a place to sit there! We've been there many times, but never ate there just because it's too difficult to look for table. Think they have too little seats or something. :(

I found a seat somewhere and hubby went to order from the Korean stall. Hubby felt that the food's pretty okay, but I didn't think much of the beef. It's actually spicy and the kimchi is very spicy!

Hubby likes the soup because it's not salty. I think it's not too bad.

Total amount spent on food for both of us SGD13.00. So, it's not that expensive. :)

I didn't bring out my camera, had to use my phone's camera to take photo. Think my phone's dying. The photos are getting blurrier and blurrier. :P

Must applaud the Hakka Thunder Tea rice branches at Food republic especially the Vivocity outlet.

Recently hooked onto thunder tea rice. One for the health benefits behind every mouth that you eat (the outlet provides a simple newsletter on the health benefits of the ingredients and goodness put into every bowl of thunder tea. Despite the basil and peppermint taste that one may dislike on first try, it's definitely worth eating and trying with brown rice for the sake of your health. 2nd, after finishing the bowl of brown rice with the veg, toufu, ikan billis, dried shrimp, cai pu I actually felt quite revitalised and light, without the sinful and bloated feeling because all the stuff I ate was easily digestable plus the fact tt it was not oily. Just nice and sedap! The only down side was sometimes the soup a tad too diluted.. cause the mixture is scooped before hand and hot water added just before you order.. so it's really a case of auntie's skill hahaha..
