If not for the tv reviews I would not have know where is Gobi located at. Located at a small corner in Katong Mall with paintings on the wall, you would have thought you have arrived at a interior design shop instead of a pastries shop.

However, the small little pastries cleared my doubts before. You can either purchase them in half a dozen or a dozen. Each miniature pastry was delicately made. With many creative design, it's hard for you to choose. All of them just looked pretty. You just can't bear to put them in your mouth

My personal favorite is the pink burger which has strawberry in between and also the one with chocolate and chesnuts.

Because it's so small, you can finish one in one mouthful. Therefore, one box is often not enough.

A great gift for people as everyone will be awed by the presentation of it.

Go try it, they have a branch located at Central now, it's so accessible.

This shop sells little pastries/ cake/ chocolate. I don’t know what’s it called but yea, it’s somewhere there. What makes this shop stand out from others is their miniature dessert pieces that are bite size, and extremely creatively designed! One look and you know how much effort has been put in to making the desserts, and it’s “disturbing” to look at those pretty little things and not bear to eat it.. I really compliment them for their creativity.

But it’s quite a different thing after you put it into your mouth. They have very unique-flavoured desserts but I think it’s a little too bold. The over-emphasis on the little nuts in one of their chocolate totally covers the taste of the chocolate itself. Also, the chestnut embedded in the chocolate added to the "unusual" taste of the chocolate. The combination of coconut-based cream between sweet biscuit layers for another of their dessert also has quite a weird taste which kind of caught me of guard.

They do have some chocolates that are quite good though. Coffee or cheese flavoured chocolates. I think the chocolates there are worth a try.

I must say, initially, I had quite a good impression on their desserts, but I think it looks better than it tastes. I guess it’s up to you to decide if it’s “disturbing” or “delightful”.

Lastly, a note to those who intend to buy but are not going home immediately: Do ensure that you or the receiver has access to a fridge or the desserts would melt very quickly (probably because for some items, it’s cream in it and not chocolate. I guess creams tend to melt faster?) and end up looking quite bad. (or at least mine could not wait till I got home about 40 min later.. :s)
