1 Review for “HANA Japanese Resturant ” - Restaurants
11
My wife treated me to a "Father's day meal" at this Japanese resturant located at River Vally Road. Below are some of the dishes I tried.
Cold Tofu with century egg sauce - The dish I like most. Smooth toufu topped with unique century eggs sauce. The taste might be a bit heavy for some but if you like century eggs, you will definitely like this. - $4
Blue berry juice with sparkling soda - The very best of blue berry enhanced with sparkling soda water. The sweet taste of the blue berry was light on the taste bud and the sparkling soda water add the acidity to the drink. On a warm day, this drink is definitely the one that I will choose. -$5.50
Sashimi - The price is not on the low side but the freshness of the seafood definitely worth its price. I ordered Mekajiki and Tako sashimi. It was fresh and the slices were thick, which enable you to feel the "OOMP" when you bite into each slice. Best eaten with wasabi and soy sauce. - $40
Charcoal grilled lamb - the lamb is grilled to perfection. But somehow, that unique smell and taste that always follow lamb dishes is non-existing. For those who doesn't like the smell and taste of lamb, you can try this. for me, without that unique flavour, it is like eating laska without cockles. - $18
Garlic Beef - Nice tender beef cubes stirred fried with garlic. The dish is tasty and you can actually feel the garlic lumps in your mouth. The beef is moist and tender. definitely a yummy dish. - $15
Seaweed fried rice - This dish is so simply yet it is soooo yummy. The rice is sticky and grainy. You can actually taste the seaweed and the fragrance of the rice. Nothing fanciful about the appearance but the taste is great. -$10
Sea Urchin - FINALLY I got to eat a live sea urchin and I must say it is definitely different from those pre-prepared one that I have had before. The fishy flavour is definitely there and when you scoop the slimy meat and place it into your mouth, you will find that it has a slightly sweet and salty taste. Quite different from the pre-prepared one that has a bland and firm texture. - $25
HANA Maki - Tradition sushi with Hamachi and salmon. As usual the sauce is abit salty but if you eat the whole sushi in one mouthful, the rice actually lessen the saltiness and the fish slices provide the firm texture to the dish. - $16
Price - Definitely not on the low side. The sea urchin is $25 by itself. Overall we ate about $230. ^^ Service - Good service where the staff actually recommend us whats on offer and its signature dishes. Food - Freshness is there and most of the dish is on the heavy side of the taste bud. ( I like it cos I like my food that way :) )
