1 Review for “Hifumi Japanese Restaurant (Marina Square) ” - Restaurants

If you enjoy unlimited supply of appetizers then this is the joint you should be dining at. Yes at Hifumi, you not only get reasonably priced mains, you also do get unlimited supply of appetizers and they tasted pretty decently yummy. I went to the plaza sing outlet and couldn't help myself but have to gather a few other appetizer lovers to cheong the appetizer booth at the Marina Square outlet.
We got there at 6:45pm on a weekday evening, the large seating area has only about 5 tables filled with diners so we quickly got ourselves seated and started to order our mains. Priced about $13 - $24 with a good choice of chicken, fish, beef, noodles and everything Jap, so we chose what we wanted and went straight for the free flow appetizers. Sky Juice (aka plain water) is free, a choice of warm or iced and after topping up $3.90, you get a good choice of unlimited refills of green tea, coffee, ice peach teas, softdrinks of various flavor.
Well, we were pretty happy with the appetizer bar though its not superlot of choices but the items were yummy and many of it were what I like to have.
1) Candied Sweet potato - Strips of sweet potatoes cooked and candied, tasted crunchy and very yummy.
2) Pumpkin salad - loved this chunks of baked pumpkin with a little mix of seasoning to taste.
3) Pork belly salad - Its yummy, while i'm thinking of it I salivate
4) Chawamushi - I'm not a steamed chawa person but i must say, they made it very well. Smooth and soft yet not watery, I have 3 in one meal and i'm not a chawa person, can you imagine how many servings will a chawa person eat?
5) Cha Soba - If you love cold noodles, you could have as much as you want here....
We had the SABA teriyaki set which came with a huge portion of fish, tasted regular, nothing to wooha about. The Hayashi omelette set was a little too sweet to taste and pretty regular about it. Service was almost non existent and the free flow appetizers should be refilled more often. Otherwise all is good. Price is very affordable and its fun to eat there, more fun to watch other patrons elbow each other to get their free flow... :)
