there was this time i went to hmv to buy some CDs (anime and J-pop). when it was time to pay, i used my debit card but told the cashier i wanted to pay by Nets. The cashier started to nod his head non-stop and i thought he heard what i say, but apparently, he was not listening to me but to the music that was playing in the store. and then, he charged my purchase to Mastercard debit, not Nets like what I initially told him to. makes me furious!! ended up, i was so angry that i wrote "I said I wanted to pay by Nets!" on the charge slip instead of signing it. when he say it, he didn't even say anything, much less an apology. he just simply 'destroyed" the charge slip, reprint one again and asked me to sign beside the "x". arrgghhh! *Banana* him lar!! now, i only shop for my J-pop and anime CDs on CDJapan liao...
Note: The fact that people signed up for a debit *** NETS card have a purpose and that purpose is not to show off the Mastercard logo and pretend to be some rich snob kid. Imagine being stuck overseas and you're unable to withdraw cash from overseas ATM due to service charge. The only thing that cay save your day and a$$ would be the debit card you're holding.

since it's my card, i have the right to choose what form of payment i want, isn' it? imagine you buy a cd and the staff insist your buy two so that they can have more sales, when you only wanted one..

what more, the cashier didn't pay attention to what his customer is saying, that really makes it a not so memorable customer service experience.

Honestly, I hardly go to HMV on normal days to purchase CDs or VCDs. However, HMV is the one place that I must drop by when I am in search of an 'outdated' or special imported CD.
HMV, being the largest music store around, just seems to provide the best example of an all rounded music experience. Having stocks from the past to the most recent music releases, HMV strikes me as a place which tries it's very best to fulfil and help every music lover get their music. :)
Differentiating every CD to their individual genre, it really makes things easier when one is in search of a particular CD of that music genre. From experience, the staff were also very helpful and friendly while aiding you, whenever you feel lost searching through the piles of CDs.
I recall that HMV also does sell some of the CDs/VCDs at lower prices, when compared to other music stores. This is really a good bargain for students especially, to get the CDs they want, at a much lower price. :) Of course, the CD may be slightly outdated, but hey, it is never late to purchase music records that you like.
Music crosses language boundaries, and time puts no stop to it as well. :)
