1 Review for “Hong Thai ” - Hotels &Travels
130
3 years ago, I was at the Natas Fair trying to get a tour package to Taiwan. My friends compared prices and find Hong Thai to offer the best, in terms of prices and itinery.
We decided on the round-taiwan trip with at least 5 out of 7 nights bringing us to the night markets (recently I saw that this itinery is still available). This was like a perfect of Taiwan, although the sightseeing does not include Ali Shan and Xiao Ren Guo (which I went on my own just last year).
The price was within our budget so we didn't have much constraints on which airline to take, when asked to choose between Cathay and SQ. But our eventual decision led me to give them a big reduction on their points for service. When I asked whether Cathay (cheaper by $100) flies to Taiwan directly, the staff actually tell me Yes. How can an agency staff gave me such wrong information?!? Only when they issue the tickets, then we realise that it transits in HK (Cathay totally does not fly to Taiwan directly!!). But all was too late as the tickets are already issued and the SQ tour is already full.
This aside, the spore team leader was very nice, although she keep eating at the night markets, and the local tour guide was said to be seconded from the tourism office and gave us a lot of good guides and support.
I was told by the local tour guide that the boss of Hong Thai had very good relationship in Taiwan, thus able to get the best hotels at the best rates for tour groups. A definite plus point if I decide to go Taiwan again, purely for food across the island's night markets.
