I am a NUS student and naturally I visit the optometrist here for my eye check. I paid $190 for a pair of specs and $180 for my contact lenses. Got one pair free when I bought four boxes of lenses and there is $35 consultation fee. all these are reflected on my itemized receipt and it is still cost substantially lesser than Clementi. their clinic has other branches in Orchard and Jurong. my mates from NTU also visit them there on campus. Very good service and need to fix appointment to see their doctor and buy optics.

My sister and I were there last week. I will strongly recommend IGARD at Kent Ridge because they provide a very convenient optical service for university students on campus. Their eye/optical clinic is located next to the dental clinic at University Health Centre and they have a wide selection of eyeglass frames to choose from. As a university student, I get very good discounts on eyeglasses and contact lenses with them. I am very impressed with their optometrists. They are qualified in the UK and Australia, and they provided a very thorough eye test for me. However please take note their optometrists work strictly by appointment only. It is simply not possibly to just turn up at the door and be seen because they provide such dedicated personalised service! JUst google them as they are very popular among students. I heard they specialize in optometry which is not the same as ophthalomology.
