went there for dinner on a thurs night. not too crowded, but we got stuck in an awful location (near the plate clearing bit) because they refused to open up part of the restaurant ): but other than that, service is really good.

their xiao long bao is really good, the skin maintains a great balance between being firm yet soft. fillings are just right, just that i wish there were more soup inside the xiao long bao. gorgeous paired with the vinegar (: $3.80 for 4 i think.

their zha jiang mian is another messy, sloppy but yummy indulgence. slippery noodle with flavourful gravy, what more could you ask for, and at less than $10!

their yang zhou fried rice with shrimp..i think its only ordinary. no wok hei..i prefer the one at victoria street. and cost $10.80.

overall, good food at rather reasonable prices! just dont order the fried rice

We went for dim sum, not much varities on their menu.

Ordered xiao long bao, crispy vegetarian popiah, red bean paste pancake, guo tia, mushroom wrapped in beancurb skin and a pot of xiang pian tea.

Their xiang pian is not xiang at all, not very good tea leaves used. The xiao long bao even b4 i can pick it up, it's leaking and the guo tia skin is thick with little fillings. I not keen with the beacurb skin mushroom thing which my partner ordered, didn't eat it so no comment here. The redbean pancake is good but rather small portion for $6, the popiah is norm. Thou the retail pricing seems cheap but we pay for $38 in total.

I believe with this amout we paying, we could have more plates and better quality dim sum somewhere else.

        Value for Money

My recommendations: beef noodle, xiao long bao, drunken chicken, red bean souffle, watercress drink.

The noodles are here are springy and cooked to perfection and they come in large portions with plenty of soup. My lady colleagues usually share a bowl. The staff will even cut the noodles for you if they know you are sharing. At as low as $7 a bowl, I think it's really value for money.

The xiao long bao is consistent in quality. They are always served piping hot and with plenty of soup in it. Be careful when you pick one up as the skin is thin and might tear if you aren't careful. They are sold in small portions so it is easier to share in small groups.

The service is pretty good as the food is served quickly even during peak hours and the staff are quite flexible. Plus, most of them are cantonese-speaking aunties which add to give an authentic feel to the restaurant. Of course, they understand English and Mandarin too. They even print out your orders in Chinese!
