First thing I thought when I enter the place at The Cathay was, the salon looks very classy with those special water features.
They are slightly different from normal salons as their facials don't employ the 'traditional' steam cleanse squeeze method for extraction of pimples and blackheads. Your face won't look red after the facial. Price to pay -- $250 (normal facials at other places can be like just $100 bucks). Of course, if you buy the facials in packages, the cost would be cheaper.
They sell a box of 10 natural plant ampoules at about $450. So expensive. And they adopt those hard-selling tactics. Everytime after facial will bring you to a room to have tea. First, they would start with small talk, comment on how good your looks are. Then, slowly they start to sell off new products etc to you. Holding your time no matter how you tell them that you don't need those products.
They used to be located at The Shaw. Level of service drops when they relocated to The Cathay. Promoting their products while you are having facial. You don't get to relax during the facial session at all.
They do provide massage services too. Scrub and steambath inclusive.
