Jurong Park Connector starts from Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), near the Jurong West Street 42 estates. It creates a linear pathway lined with greenery for cyclists, joggers and even strollers. It stretches from PIE all the way to Ayer-Rajah Expressway (AYE), providing avid cyclists and joggers with ample distances and breathtaking sceneries.

Bustling with activities on a saturday morning with children swinging from the rope pyramid in the middle of the park, seniors doing their morning workouts at the large event shelter overlooking the lake, joggers struggling to complete their routes and couples taking leisure walks while enjoying the fresh air and sounds of waves lapping on the man-made shore.

Yes, this not so recently renovated Jurong Lake Park is part of the Jurong Park Connectors that could lead you to many scenic and hidden places in the Jurong Kampong. Started as being swampy areas in the late 1960s, Jurong is still pretty much a sanctuary to a vast breeds of wildlife in many form. So i took a jog, starting from the carpark of the Jurong Lake Park, which sadly is a cashcard paid carpark.

Right across the carpark was the PA water venture where we could spot some hunky dragon boaters and adventurous kayakers. Camouflaged by loads of CB-leaves (most army boys will know that) was a route that leads to the park's main area where you could simple journey by the side of the lake towards a wooden bridge. This bridge is newly built with some benches for resting and enjoying the quiet waters. Down the bridge leads us back to the jogging route the winds towards the road besides the lakeside mrt and towards chinese garden mrt. This particular segment was scenic with broad spaces of vegetation and I spotted many eager fishermen. One lady passed me by with a huge catch in her hand.. approximately a 1.5kg fish, freshly caught and still wiggling...

The route was clean with many garbage bins and lots of benches for lounging. The road was even and very good to jog in and while at one point it lead to the side towards a quieter part of the park. Loads of insects and bird singing while wind rustle the leaves of the quiet park, before long we reached the entrance to chinese/japanese garden.

Seemingly a large park, these gardens are filled with bird watches and photographers with super techy cameras and laughter filled the air while some gathered on a small raised area with their cameras, patiently waiting to take a snap shot of that rare avian creature. A short run lead us right to the other entrance of chinese garden which was near to the carpark of Jurong Lake Park...

It is a pleasant park with lots of see and hear. Great for families and if you would like to take a long jog, you could as the connector leads to everywhere, even to AYE. Safe for children and elderly with a good restroom facility. Extremely scenic and easily accessible by public transport.
