1 Review for “Kluang Station Restaurant ” - Food & Beverages
13
Yet another food expedition, this time with my colleagues again to Kluang Station at One Utama, Bandar Utama. I was first attracted by this corner lot eatery during one of my shopping binge, when I noticed their interesting design and theme. The whole restaurant is designed to look like a kopitiam at the Kluang Railway Station in Johor. In fact, the whole wall is full of huge photos of the original kopitiam. And apparently most of the recipes there are from one of the owners' mum.
Expected to encounter traffic jam and problem finding a parking spot, but surprisingly the journey from office only took approximately 12 minutes, and another 5 minutes for the parking.
And when we reached the restaurant, we were surprised to see that it's half-empty. It means no queue for table and shorter waiting time for our food too!
I ordered their Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM9.90), served with some green peas, beans, fries and topped with mushroom sauce. I can tell you I really love this one, especially with the portion so big. Definitely a must try if you visit this eatery. I also ordered their Special Fried Chicken (RM4.50), which I felt its very tasty too. It is not just like those normal fried chicken. This one is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and the marinade taste is very nice.
Kevin ordered Nasi Ayam Goreng (RM7.90) which is very similar to Nasi Lemak, despite just eaten one in the morning. He thought it was so so only, nothing really special, although I must mention that their portion is pretty generous.
Rachel decided to try their Nasi Ayam Masak Merah (RM7.90) instead, having tried their Chicken Chop before. Well, their version is not exactly the usual kind of Ayam Masak Merah that we know. But nevertheless, it tastes quite good, judging by how Rachel walloped the whole chicken leg!
They serves those drinks that we can usually get at a kopitiam, such as Teh Ais, Teh O Ais Limau, Milo, Kopi. Besides that they do offer drinks like fruit juice and soft drinks. Rachel ordered Pineapple Drink (RM3.50), and she commented that it was nice. Okaaaaay.....
The service there is very good I reckon. They have more than enough number of waiters, and they won't show you faces when you requests them for something. Pricewise, I thought it is very reasonable due to their large portion and their type of restaurant. Good food, good service, reasonable price, interesting deco and fun companions...can you ask for more?
P/S: Oh be warned, DO NOT try their Kluang Mee Siam (RM4.90)! It is so bland (no meat at all) and tasted so ordinary that I rather buy 'em from those aunties on the roadside for only RM1!
