Why is everyone's comments so positive on this?
Ok I agree I will alway try to be an a**hole when I go to some restaurants.
That day when I went to Manhattan (PS), I demanded that I get to sit in that reserved area or I'll leave and complain.
To my delight, they gave in to me, and we had 3 fish 'n chips, 1 seafood platter thingy that are cooked with some blowtorch.
I agree their fish n' chips are alot tastier than Fish 'n Co, but I somehow still prefer the soggy fish 'n chips from Fish 'n Co.
Actually, Fish n' Chips are best with Malt Vinegar, or lots of Lemon drizzle. However, I had to call for more lemon, as malt vinegar wasn't there. Since I like my lemon like 4 slices, I told them I wanted 4 slices, BUT they came with one slice everytime they came to me. ALRIGHT. GOOD. GO and COME BACK 4TIMES THEN!!!
I'd like to comment that their staff are not very smart. Indeed I am not a big spender, but why is it that I HAVE TO ENDURE THIS KIND OF ****. NO! You have to treat everyone the same!
Anyway, the food's great though. But I'm not going again to get another potential heart attack.

The flaming platter for 2 is quite a spectacle
Watch the crew set fire to your food right before you with a blowtorch! It's quite a spectacle. And catch a glimpse of your friends' expressions as they see it the first time! Priceless.
Huge portions. Cheaper than Fish & Co. But lacks variety. No stingray. No crab. No swordfish collar. No fish sambal. The rice that comes along in the main courses doesn't taste as good as before. It used to be buttery and garlicky. Now it is rather plain. It could be due to customer feedback.
The fried stuff was still soaked in oil when it was served. I didn't fancy that. The oil was dripping when I forced my knife through the battered fish. Can't they blot out the oil with kitchen towels?
Watch your step in the restaurant. There are portions of the floor that are elevated and you might trip or fall off the edge.

Actually walked past the place last week. Wanted to eat but the strong fishy smell made us change our minds. Maybe it is supposed to be this way. It is called Fish Market right?

My companion and I had an hour planned to have dinner at Manhattan Fish Market (MFM) yesterday. Thinking that 1 hour was sufficient, we strolled to MFM only to be confronted by a queue (on a weekday?!!) Sigh... we panicked for a bit as we had a movie in an hour. But the staff assured us that there was enough time so we lined up. We were pleasantly surprised when they handed everyone in the queue a menu so that the process of ordering will be sped up.
Amazingly we were seated in 10 minutes and had our orders taken immediately.
Our Order 2 Soups of the day - Cream of Mushroom Garlic Bread Fried Country Mushrooms Garlic Lemon Mussels Manhattan Fish & Chips Mango Juice
Seeing a full restaurant we were afraid that our food would take some time... but the soup arrived before we could whip out our camera! The soup was fine. Not diluted like some places I know. Just nice for a cream soup but it does not have additional ingredients. The garlic bread which was served just minutes after the soup was great. It was done with real garlic not just the butter kind you find at NTUC. Very tasty indeed.
The Mushrooms and Mussels came next, just 3 minutes after the bread. The Mussels came in a creamy sauce and was served with more bread for us to dip in the sauce. The mussels were fresh and the sauce was just right. Not overly creamy. The highlight was the mushrooms. At first glance, they weren't very much to look at... fried little things... but when you bite down... the mushrooms were SO JUICY! It was amazing! I love mushrooms and would definitely order them if they were available everywhere i go and this is by far the most delicious mushroom dish I've ever tasted. A Must-Order!
Then came our Fish and Chips... One look and I knew it would be good. The light batter melted in my mouth thus wasn't too thick. The fish was a light pink with great texture and no fishy smell. The fries were well seasoned, not just with salt but some other spice which I couldn't make out. And they were the thick sort which I love and were not covered in oil. A great deal at $9.90 really.
Throughout the meal, our iced water was constantly topped up and when we finally managed to whip out our camera, one of the servers magically appeared to offer to take the picture for us. They had smiles on their faces throughout despite being so busy. It was a fantastic experience.
We paid $52 for the two of us (we ordered a lot le), got out of the restaurant in 35 minutes (in good time for our movie).
** My companion was full of praises for this place and mind you he would normally reject 9 out of 10 new places we try. :) Don't I deserve something for such a fantastic review written? hehe

Wonderful experience you had! My experience at Central outlet was not so great. But the food was good nonetheless.

:) It was really good. Poor Genesis. But it's like that sometimes different outlet = different staff and sometimes it's really service that makes all the difference.
