On the 23rd of Aug, it’s my 1st visit to Marina Food Loft. Have no idea that I have received the worst service that I’ve ever encountered. I went up to find myself a place to settle down, but realizing that all the plates are not kept away. So I thought of walking up to one of the worker there, asking for a favor to clear the table. But as I approached him…I only have the chance to say “excuse me” and I’m being yell by him for no reason. He shouted at me and spoke in hokkien saying he’s not free…very busy. So I went back to my seat and observe him. For every person that approached him was being told off rudely also. And when he have the time to clear the tables, he purposely clear all other tables except for those that have approached him earlier. Government encouraging for good services and this is the kind of service from “Marina Food Loft”.

I always dislike eating at food courts. Reason is very simple, the food is not as nice as the hawker centre, selling the same type of food but the price maybe twice as higher. You can’t compare it with cafe neither. So food court are like nowhere there, just hanging in between.

Its no wonder that you don’t see me eating at food courts, even really no choice, i also won’t eat there. I rather go our local hawker centre for my all time favourite char kuay teow, the awesome hokkien mee, or fried oyster ommelette, and maybe a plate of wanton mee?

Bacon claypot rice ($4.50) You must be wondering since i dislike food court, why do i even bother posting on them. Well this is the first time i ever see claypot rice using bacon instead of chicken. So i guess its more of a novelty. Anyway, they also have ham, seafood claypot and a few others variety. But sad to say, the claypot doesn’t taste nice at all, i guess that vindicate what i had mention earlier.

You are always welcome to visit ladyironchef for a full-up on this trip. Whatever written herein are my genuine feelings expressed in words. Food, my dear, is what they call an adventure!

I just had my dinner at Marina Square Food Loft (28 March 2008, Friday, 8.30pm), and decided to try your Chilled Cream of Mango with SAGO & POMELO. It was a decision made after looking at their flyer that was distributed at the escalators reminding customers to use the Old HK Friends card. The dessert in the flyer looked good.

Unfortunately, the term "do not judge a book by its cover" came true!!! To my utter disappointment, it was like MANGO PASTE. There was only ONE TINY Pathetic CUBE OF mango, less than 1 tea spoon of tasty POMELO, and definitely NO SIGN OF SAGO!!! And the MINI bowl of paste cost me $3!! and it wasn't even chilled!! The Flyer states "CHILLED CREAM OF MANGO WITH SAGO AND POMELO", and yes, in the flyer it states FREE after getting 10 stamps. I can forgive if it is FREE...BUT the fact is,...i paid a freaking $3!!!

I double checked on your food menu to see the photo as well as dessert description, and it was EXACTLY the same as the flyer! i didn't order the wrong food. But it tasted totally WRONG! I bet a normal hawker would have sold a better mango sago pomelo dessert at a tastier price.

I then approached the staff at the counter. they simply said that the sago must have melted! THE SAGO MELTED...then why is the dessert being sold at such quality?

I'm not sure how Old Hong Kong works. It might be an instant mango paste. But still, i don't see the reason why it isn't CHILLED, no SAGO, Pathetic POMELO, and ONE TINY Cube of Mango for $3, and differs so much from the PROMISED Dessert???

All i can say is, as a consumer, i feel CHEATED by your advertisements. I'm very sure, other customers who have tasted that particular dessert must have had the same feeling.

The management ought to look into this. And i hope, the next time i try to order that dessert in that particular outlet, i expect to see something presentable and edible.

If the management wishes to continue selling that same old recipe, then they should consider changing the photos in the menu as well as future flyers. Otherwise, it will be as good as cheating their customers.
