1 Review for “Mini Star Fermented Bean Curd ” - Restaurants
130
Its located near to Lorong 41, and so we walked from Paya Lebar MRT for dinner (I prob wouldn’t go for lunch via walking, as the route is pretty unsheltered).
I heard of this place which sells fermented bean curd and was always looking for a chance to go. Finally, I went with a Taiwan friend (alright, I didn’t figured right from the start that this was HK style fermented bean curd). When we reached, we were a little shocked to find a fairly run down shop without any customer (to be fair, we were there at around 6pm-7pm).
From the menu, we order the standard fermented beancurd, a plate of fried intestines, 2 bowls of different soup noodles. Initially, we couldn’t smell much of the fermented beancurd, until they start to fry it. And when it came, the smell was not really enough, the vinegar-seasoned cabbage was quite little and placed with the chilli instead of with the beancurd. Overall, it doesn’t justify the walk to it. At least not when I can find the Taiwan style fermented beancurd right in Lau Pa Sat.
But the fried intestines was special to me and for that alone, I would go back. My Taiwan friend find the soup noodles nice, with hers having braised chicken wing and fried fishballs etc in it, while mine has duck meat in it.
