Edited: 16-Sep-09 Seafood with Wafu Tomato Sauce
This is my second time in Pasta de Waruku. If not for the 30% discount, I wouldn't have gone into the shop. For the Seafood with Wafu Tomato Sauce, I ordered the up-size version as I remembered that the last time, the serving they gave without up-size was too small. Overall, in my opinion, the dish is average. I find that tomato sauce is too cheesy and it makes me feel guilty. Looks like I have to exercise more to burn off the excess fats~ For the seafood they served, I have to say that their prawns are fantastic! They are big, fat and juicy, however, for the squid and oysters, they pale in comparison. The squid is a little bit hard and the oyster, to me is a little bit dry. If without the 30% discount, I would have find that it is not worth the money paid I have paid.
Edited 15-Jul-09 A joyful occasion to celebratemy friend, Perry's birthday~ The day started with some singing of K which unfortunately I could not join in. However, I did manage to make it for the dinner, while most of the others are late! =) The group later decided on going to the restaurant (Pasta de Waraku) which gladly is not too expensive.
Having been the first time entering this restaurant, I decided to try their "sukiyaki" which is a mixture of beef, mushroom and cabbage mixed in their special Wafu sauce. I quite like this dish as the cabbage they used is sweet and it enhances the taste of the whole dish. However, I still find the portion a bit small for my stomach. For my drink, I decided to try their "Maccha Float". The waiter said that this ice-cream was made of some tea leaf favour and I initially had some expectation for this drink. However, after taking a sip, it was total disappointment as the ice-cream are pretty tasteless and hence, the whole drink was pretty spoilt.
Overall, the staffs are quite friendly in this restaurant and provide satisfying answers whenever questions are asked. The ambient set up was pretty good for group gatherings to sit down and catch up with each other. Even though it was at the prime of dinner hours, the whole restaurant is still quite quiet for diners to enjoy a couple of quiet moments.

Last week, my friends and I went to Pasta De Waraku for dinner. It came in highly recommended, and I've always wanted to try the food out.
Why?
I mean, look at the delicious displays! They make me hungry just by staring at them outside the restaurant. Not only do they look yummy, their large portions look like they'll readily satisfy my hunger pangs and my big appetite. Haha.
However, this seemingly isolated restaurant at the corner of Marina Square's level 3 is not at all quiet. When we reached, there was already a long~ queue outside the restaurant. Taking a number, we waited...and waited.
Finally after 1 hour and a few minutes, we were tired and hungry, but we managed to get a place. The thought of finally being able to order and dig into fantastic dishes like those displayed on the outside, made us forget our fatigue and started ordering diligently.
Only that, we thought wrong.
There were only 2 words to describe our feelings when our dishes start to arrive after 15-20 mins -- in disbelief and feeling cheated. 3 of our pasta dishes were only like, 1/3 the portion of the display set! :(
The real thing was NOTHING like the display set.
I had their Seafood Pasta in Tomato Cream Sauce. And to be honest, the seafood was really fresh. The prawns were succulent, the clams were squishy and juicy, and the fish was soft and tender. However, the main problem still lies in the fact that it was such a small portion to be worth $14.90!!
I can safely say that with this price, I can get a much satisfying meal at Pasta Mania. True, the ingredients and variety would probably not match up, but the portion will be worth my money and I would probably be much more satisfied after the meal. So, why should I go to Pasta De Waraku then?
Reading through the reviews, I can only say that perhaps Pasta De Waraku did much better at their initial opening stage and offered much more than they did now.
Free salad u say? We asked, but it's no longer available.
Drinks available while u wait? Yes it's still available, but trying to get one can be quite difficult when all their staff are bustling around.
Good service attitude? Perhaps, only when u manage to get their attention. Ice water wasn't even refilled on time, when their staff were actually talking among themselves in the drinks preparation area. We sat at the table directly beside them, and yes, they actually didn't refill our glasses when we were so near!
Overall, I would rather spend my money elsewhere and never eat here again.

Came here for dinner upon recommendation by one of my friends. But it was a first try for the rest of us in the group.
Reached at close to 730pm and realised that there was a super long queue outside. but since my friend wanted to eat there, we waited in queue. We only got a table of 4 at 9pm. By then, we were starving.
Hoping for a good dinner to make up for the waiting time, we started ordering. Main courses and sides first, wanting to be served quickly, before thinking about the drinks and desserts we wanted.
The dishes came relatively fast, about 15 min. But we were shocked by the servings.
The Tako,Ika & Mentai pasta (16.80) which came first, was only about 1/3 of the gigantic plate it came on (My friend finished her meal before mine even arrived). Next on were the Katsu Tamatoji pasta (15.80) and cream seafood pasta (16.80). Servings were equally small.
I ordered a Doria with scallop and cheese (baked rice, jap style). Mine looked most presentable out of the 4 dishes we had. However, it wasn't baked well enough such that i felt like i was eating half-cooked campbell soup with rice.
Not to forget the side dish we ordered - Salmon Cheese (8.80) which came in 4 half pieces. This tasted the best out of everything that night, but I feel that the portion was not really worth the price.
Of course, we did not stay for dessert here and subsequently asked for the bill. The bill came up to 86 bucks for 4, without any drinks or desserts. Not a price that I would be willing to pay for such food.
Final highlight of the night - they mixed up the bills and gave us the wrong bill/change back. Had to wait some time before they sorted out and came back with the right check.
Will not eat here again.
