I'm fussy about my hair. I know how it should be cut, styled and coloured. But when I see Andy, I give him Creative License - ALMOST - and he gets it right. Be prepared to spend an average of 3-4 hours if you're getting a cut and colour. He's THAT METICULOUS. I don't know of many hair stylists that pay that much attention when they give cuts. And I've tested out a fair share. If you're a fan of short sassy cuts - Andy can work his magic! Go for a hair treatment while you're at it. Highly recommended. The head massage is LOVELY! Expect personalised treatment without paying a ridiculous amount. (I shan't name drop here) I have been going to Platform for 10 years now. And I haven't "cheated" on my stylist! :)

I have curly hair and the first thing that a few hair stylists here would ask when I sat in their chairs was whether I would like to straighten my hair - is that the only kind of hair that they are capable of styling? After a few unhappy visits, I was introduced to Andy by a friend. That was almost a decade ago. And I've not gone to anyone else since. What I like about going to him is that he works with what I have - and recognises that every single head of hair is different and he treats them as such. I trust him to come up with what is best for my hair depending on the texture and density. Sometimes he would not agree with my opinion but he would still make my hair look fabulous after every single visit. I introduced him to some friends and they introduced him to their friends. So it may be a little pricey at about $90 for a cut, but you leave the salon happy and confident that you've got a good cut by a consummate professional. That's priceless. :)
