"Prosperous Kitchen" is having an attractive promotion currently whereby its ala carte food menu is going for a big 50% off and there are also lunch and dinner set meals which are 1 for 1. This attractive promotion is what led us to try them out.

The decoration of "Prosperous Kitchen" gives one a feeling of a traditional chinese eatery with its wooden design fencing, chinese lanterns as well as its wooden tables and chairs. Perhaps having some cantonese food in such an environment would intensify our eating experience.

The steamed peanuts arrived promptly once we were seated down. The taste of the peanuts were still alright, however, it would definitely taste better if it were served right from the steamer. They have 2 different dinner sets under the 1 for 1 promotion, each with different dishes and price, so that one can select based on their budget.

Our set consists of shark fin soup, thai style chicken, fish, vegetables, rice and dessert. The shark fin soup was served first where we both have a bowl each. Honestly, the soup does not taste like a shark fin soup at all. It not only consists of lots of starch, there are also barely any ingredients in ths soup. And when i finally found some threads of shark fins (i think), it totally does not taste like a shark fin.

The rest of the dishes start to arrive with the fish, chicken and the vege but not the rice. Having inform them numerously that we would like the rice to be serve first, they did not get back to us. So, to cure our hungry stomach, we have to rely on the dishes first. The dishes were really not fantastic at all with the fish batter too thick and soggy and the vege being too salty. The only dish which i think its still passable would be the thai style chicken.

With only one dish left on our table, our rice still had yet to arrive. However, the other diners that came in later and ordered their food later than us were already eating their food happily. This got us to think if customers taking up the 1 for 1 promotion were being placed at a lower priority?

Service wise, they are not really attentive to their customers' needs and requests. One simple example would be filling up their customers' glass of water. We have to remind them few times before our water is being refilled. Another example would be the delay of our rice. They did not even bother to give us an answer after checking with the kitchen. This led us to think if our requests were being heard?

Overall, if they hope to attract more customers, they would definitely need to brush up their cooking skills as well as their customer service.
