Really enjoyed our visit to this restaurant, we find the cuisines extremely yummy especially the shredded meat in bun and cold thin sliced pork belly with garlic. This restaurant is almost always crowded and be sure to arrive earlier, if not you might just have to queue for a long time outside the restaurant to get a seat.
Designed with a modern chinese chic concept, The chairs are comfortable with backing, tables wide enough to accommodate alot of food and china dining wares made of good quality burnt ceramics that made the entire experience very pleasant.
Service is like the busy chinese restaurants, loud voices calling here and there, dishes carried in and out, its noisy dining, however table conversations among ourselves can still be processed adequately. Love the little details they put in, like while we are suppose to fix our own shredded pork into the bun, we are given disposable plastic gloves to wear to do the job. On top of that, while we tasted our savoury soup in a bamboo cup, we had to remove the shell of the prawn inside and there we were given another pair of disposable gloves to do just that. Its these fine details that made them stand out from others.
The food tasted fabulous and I love their drinks menu, particularly the soursop juice ($4.90) that came in a freeze. They also do have this interesting sweet corn drink that i never had the courage to try.
For appetizer, we tried the drunken cockles ($5.90) which is cockles marinated with spices such as garlic and etc. Tasted unique and refreshing.
The pork belly with garlic is our favourite ($7.90) and we ordered 2 servings of this. Very refreshing and chewy, yet you would like more after you have tasted one.
Bamboo Herbal Prawn ($4.90) is a savory soup with prawns and herbs, very tasty and healthy and the prawns juicy with such sweetness. May contain some chinese wine... which is heavenly.
Shredded meat with bun ($3.90) is one of my favourite. Imagine this, well fried pork and condiments stuffed in a crispy skinned fluffy bun sprinkled with sesame. Crispy, juicy and flavors exploding in your mouth.
Also the Putien Mee Suar ($23.90) is something of a must have to taste the culture and heritage of the people of putien.
