1 Review for “QQ Rice (Bugis Junction) ” - Restaurants

I just went yesterday to the Bugis branch, but its gone now. Guess I have concluded (to myself) correctly when I went to try it out the first time round.
Actually, the food is a good concept, rice balls that can be eaten on the road and comes with non-traditional fillings like cheese. The availablity of a choice of normal or brown (healthy) rice, is also in line with the current trend of healthy living.
But I just feel that this concept doesn't work in Singapore. Compared to the Korean snacks a few stalls away, taiwanese snacks has little (or lost) its appeal in Singapore. The price of this rice ball (around 4 inch long, 2 inch wide), is also too high (around $3 plus) for a take-away snack.
They try to packaged it as a trend-food (with all the cuties faces drawn on the pictures of the riceballs, but without much adver around to create awareness, its unlikely to create any much hoo-ha over it.
Taste wise, I would probably accept it if I am having it in a nice cosy foodcourt or corner eating it. But eating it on the go with my fingers potentially getting oily, it just taste “normal” to me. Nothing fantastic.
