This outlet is less crowded as compared to the outlet at Century Square. We went on a Sunday early evening and at no point during our dinner, was the whole outlet full (it has around 16 seats). When we were about to leave, we saw the waiter serving some cooked teppan food to the connecting Sakae Sushi outlet – we might do that next time to save our clothes from getting stained from the smell coming from the cooking right in from of us.
Because of the number of customers, the waiter hardly appear during our meal – they must be also serving the connecting Sakae Sushi outlet. So it ended that our ice water (and another group’s green tea) does not get refilled. One glass throughout the meal is not idea, given that the teppan food tends to come with teriyaki sauce or other sauce and so there’s a lot of strong taste after each item in your set meal. They even forgot our plain rice until someone in our group mumbled and the chef heard – he had to ask his fellow (or more junior) chef to get the rice from the kitchen to serve us.
I remember the Century Square outlet served vegetable salad as its appetizer, but this outlet serve edamame, probably since this outlet is smaller and makes lesser sense to prepare the vegetable salad for just a few? It’s probably also easier to serve edamame which is also prepared for the connecting Sakae Sushi outlet.
Foie Gras is getting more easily accessible to the general public: the set that I order has Foie Gras included – 2 slice. The beef in this set is cooked with garlic, and is just nice. The steam egg is cooked on teppan, by first cooking a thin layer of egg to serve as the bottom of the bowl, and the onion to serve as the side of the bowl. It comes with a prawn, although mine slipped into the liquid egg at the point of cooking and so does not has its tail showing up above the cooked egg.

We have Suki beef and seafood set.
Yes I strongly agree with Pharque (the previous review) that the duck meat tasted like beef and it's really good. My beef and vegetables was mixed with sake stock, abit spicy. The brown rice wasn't what i expected, tasted just like normal rice served in a green pepper.
The seafood set wasn't too good too, the tiger prawn was rather small.
The gal who took our order also never tell us that the bamboo clam was out of stock and will be replaced by scallop. When we were served scallop, I question why and the cook was surprised and tell us its replacement.
The service is lousy, when they serve our salad, the gal just push it against the plates instead of moved the plates then put down the salad.
Yes, they just know how to serve people who's at the entrance and once seated down, just like us, waiting and calling for refill of green tea, not once not twice and finally just give up, dont drink .
Never been to other outlets, but this outlet's service really needs to brush up, especially they are located in our Changi Airport.

Not really a fan of Sakae, my mom and I was kinda drawn to dine at Sakae Tekkanyaki because it was one of the restaurants that were open at Terminal 3 at that point of time.
We had Sakae Set and Turkey Dinner Set. The chef was right in front of us cooking, the smell wasn't stuck to our clothes, I don't know why, he was kinda pressured cos we kept talking and teasing him.
The duck meat in my Sakae Set tasted like beef and was awesome. The 'chawanmushi' which was small and in an onion ring was creatively cute but really small...
The Turkey was just nice too...
Their bean spourts were picked at the front and the back. I like that kind. The doumiao was fresh and crunchy too. Everything was cool except the service.
Filled with trainees that were under prepared, and even the supervisor or manager i assume (cos she was in a black blazer) was sotong. The other one who looks younger was better but she was merely 'overlooking the operations' after some point of time. The aircon was low and the place was damn hot no thanks to the teppanyaki theme. They ought to turn up the aircons. The chef was great, cashier alright, servers are retarded, can't see that my tea was not filled, and I had to CALL AND CALL SERVERAL TIMES! and when they are called they blur blur come over and top it up. and in my cold water cup they pour hot water even after i requested COLD water. I GAVE UP. and stopped drinking.
That sotong supervisor even spilled over our sake. It was in this pretty glass decanter with a hole to put ice to chill the sake, and there was that 'mouth' area at the pitcher so u pour the liquid out from that dent, that sotong pour from the other end. AND THE RESULT WAS THE ICE IN THE HOLE DRIPPED INTO MY RICE and she didn't bother to change my rice. ?!@#$@
not that I want to call her names and all but this is the number one sotong SERVICE.
but food was VERY worth the money so i am still giving a 4 star and i hope they improve their amateur service.
