1 Review for “Sims Vista Market & Food Centre (Aljunied Mrt) ” - Eating Places

Situated about 5 mins short walk from the aljunied mrt station helmed by a good covered walkway, the sims vista market is a regular haunt for the residents around Sims Avenue.
I was surprised with the variety of cooked food and of course the super affordable pricing. Matter of fact, you can still find $1.50 mixed veg rice (Plate of rice with choice of 2 veg) at a very good portion, $2.50 Wanton Noodles (Noodles with dumpling) that tasted old skool and yummy as well as $0.35 a piece Yong Tau Foo that comes up to less then $3 for a bowl of 6 pieces with rice or noodles.
The variety of food offered is also quite a delight. You have all a good choice of famous fish soup which is super yummy, braised duck porridge, rice and kway chup, Putien fried longevity noodles, double boiled wrapped chicken, etc etc etc... Theres too many to choose from all most stalls are pretty yummy. There is also malay stalls that provides one of the most yummy nasi kandars, smashed chicken (ayam panyat) and other yummy malay cuisines.
Interesting finds at this hawker: 1) Bakeries - There are a few bakeries, one just for bread and other 2 provides items such as mooncakes, traditional chinese pastries, yummy egg tarts and other high tea must haves.
2) Do you know that the cheapest old school cobbler is here at one of the market stalls selling everything else. Will post a review soon. He charges $4 to change the heel pads of my pumps which wears out too often and does a rather quick and good job.
3) There is an NTUC sponsored mixed veg rice store here right at the other end of the market. It gives you a 10% discount your plate of nasi lemak or mixed veg rice when you flash your card. Interesting ain't it.
4) Really fun toy store at the market that sells really interesting toys and general stuffs. Its the owners of the stores that made the difference.
5) Expensive fruit stores - Its an irony that i find the fruits here expensive especially the store that is facing the service road. One time she wants to charge me $10 for 3 smaller than my palm custard apple. I WAS IN SHOCK TILL DATE.
Its a good eat here and lots to eat at a very good price, however its a huge market and the tables are plenty, not to mention is not really easy to find a clean seat during lunch hours. The cleaners are many however, too crowded, as such it takes them quite a while before they clean it up for you. So patience is a must to have... not forgetting the ever growing queues and the harsh office ladies..... Yar.. watch out for birds and their poos... though spikes have been installed yet still watch where you seat.
