On 17th Oct 08 i been there with my hubby for a late dinner, we walk in around 9pm. We do check first with the waitress what time is the last order. She reply with an unhappy tone and is just like *sigh.....9.30pm* and show us to our table (restaurant closed at 10pm). both my hubby and me feel bad but since we alrealy have our seat so we just go ahead and order our food. When we ready to make our fast order the staff there seem ignoring us (they just group at a corner and chatting away) and after a third attempt only we got the waitress to take down our order(not busy only 5 table occupied including my table). We left around 9.45pm and with a feeling that we did something wrong by walk in to the restaurant near to their closing time.
Well my point here is no matter how good is the food but with a bad attitude or service of the waitress it will make this my last visit to the restaurant.

This place sells more traditional Chinese food but cooked in a "modern" style. The dish they're most famous for is the Samsui Chicken! Of course we ordered that, and that definitely was the best dish at my table. I like the fact that the meat was soft and tender and the dish was not oily. Not even the skin! The skin has this smooth texture and feels very nice in your mouth. Because the dish isn't oily, it doesn't feel like you're actually eating fat (Yes, not like those that you get from chicken rice stalls outside)! The dish comes with this ginger sauce made by the restaurant which enhances the taste of the wonderful chicken!
Another good dish would be the Hometown Tofu. If I'm not wrong, it's one of the popular dishes there too. And I have only one word to say, good! The Tofu is slightly fried and so the skin on the outside is slightly crispy but when you put it in your mouth, the white soft Tofu literally melts in your mouth! I really like that. Plus the Tofu is complemented by this soyasauce-like gravy which is very tasty. It's somewhat like eating Agedashi Tofu. Haha!
On the whole, I enjoyed my meal but there is one dish that I feel is not very worth the money and that is the Dong Po Rou. It was a promotional item and cost $13.80. Promotion items always seem to look good right, and so we ordered that too. But I didn't quite like it. The only different is that they have to put in much effort to cut the meat into thin slices and roll it up to look nice. But at the end of the day, it was just 4 pathetic rolls of meat with 4 small fried buns, and it tasted very ordinary. like our home-cooked black soyasource port, only too sweet.
As for the interior, it it nicely decorated with the settings of an ancient China's restaurants. Quite interesting. Just that the place is rather cramp..
I'd give this place a 3.5 actually. But I guess I'd round it down..
