This outlet is at a good location, just above the MRT station and near to 2 foodcourts. Occasionally, I might pop by for a take-away after-lunch drink. But I think the fact that this outlet has relatively more customers, has made the staff forgot that they are in a store that could afford to sell drinks at a premium for its service provided.
There is this time, when I need a breakfast coffee and I remember this outlet which is fairly on-the-way for me in the morning (although I always forgot that it exist), and I went in to get a Frappucino. For my specific taste, I usually request for an “under-blend” Frappucino and this morning, I ask for a Java Chip Frappucino. At the point of taking my order, staff A had to tell staff B about my order and I could repeated hear them saying “under-blend” and “over-blend”. Not wanting my order to be wrong, I told staff B “UNDER-BLEND” and he repeated it, while giving staff A some kind of “its under-blend lah” comments.
When my drink comes, I could feel the liquid moving very smoothly in the plastic container. I asked, is this underblend or overblend? And the staff dares to give me some comments like “it’s the blender”.... Oh dear, what service is this?? Wanting to get off to work earlier, I commented “this is Ice Coffee, not Frappucino” and make my way out. I don’t find any pleas to make me stay and give me another drink (AFTER my black face and comments). As I walk away and take 2 mouthfuls of the drink, I just can’t keep it down. I’m paying so much for an Ice Coffee?? When I got back to the store and said “Either you refund me, or you give me another drink” and I got the answer “Yes, we are making another drink for you”.
What kind of service is this?? The drink should not have come to me in the first place as the staff should at least know how a standard Frappucino looks like as he pours it out of the blender, not to say that I specifically ask for underblend. Next is, if the customer commented on the drink, he should at least give me some apologetic comments like even if he couldn’t exchange my drink. When I make that kind of comments and he could exchange my drink, he should stop me from leaving and not make me come back into the store and make those kind of demands before he exchange my drink. The next time I want a breakfast drink from Starbucks, sorry but this store is out of my radar forever.
