Suanthai (Killiney Road:)

This is literally my favorite thai restaurant in Singapore and I have sampled a good number of them. The service is excellent, with the staff always very attentive to you and the food is...well, the food is actually better than some of the thai food I ate in Thailand before. :)

Usually, I would measure the grade of a Thai restaurant by it's tom yum soup. The tomyum seafood soup here is very fragrant, with a mouthwatering variety of condiments and ingredients, including crabmeat, prawns, sotong and fish all of which taste quite fresh which is much better than the stale **** you get from some restaurants' tomyum soup sometimes. The spiciness leaves a tongue warming, rich taste in your mouth and when you gulp it down it tickles the back of your throat with a piquant tang, leaving you hungry for more. Really the best I have tasted in SG. The green curry is also something truly excellent also.

If you opt for the buffet, don't forget to try the veggies. Their veggies in oyster sauce and the kai lan with salted fish are cooked just right, crunchy and delicious with their great sauce. There is also a certain fried fish dish with a spicy and sour sauce which is very appealing, goes well down with your rice. Also, don't forget the can-only-order-once satay. Actually, everything from the buffet menu is good but I just highlighted a few of my favourites.

This is an excellent and little known gem with which to impress your friends. Bring them here and you will have no regrets.
