1 Review for “Sukiya (Katong Mall) ” - Restaurants

Bad experience. Considering that it is newly open. (Date of visit 13 Dec 2011). It can’t even bring the steam boat soup to boil.
Firstly : the waitress lead my partner and I to the table and left us alone without attending to our needs. They didn’t even offer to take any orders for the drinks nor offer to fill the cooking pot with any base soup. We're practically left alone without any drinks, nor soup base to start the steam boat. All we have on our dining table was empty utensils.
Second : after 5mins, still no staffs walk to our table to attend to us. After multiple attempts to wave and get the attention of any staffs and supervisor, I have to practically walk up to one of the staff and block his way before I can get his attention to attend to us.
Thirdly : Once I manage to get the base soup being served, we waited 30mins and yet the base soup was not brought to boil. Even the later customers after us, had finished with their meal and we’re still waiting for the base soup to be boiled. Only after multiple feedback to the staff and supervisor, it was then they shifted us to another table (a different induction cooker). Still 15 mins later, the soup base is still not boiled. Then again, multiple feedback to the staff and supervisor, we’re then again shifted to another table which only manage to barely boil one of the base soup. (the pot was partition to accommodate 2 different base soup)
Fourthly : The store manager would still have the cheek to say that the soup is hot enough and the base soup may not be able to bring to a boiling state. Whereas the same base soup at other tables and the previous customer of the same table (that we were shifted to), were boiling away. Technically speaking, any intelligent person would know that either the induction cooker is faulty or there is a defect in the pot. (This is worst than the induction cooking in Kopitiam stalls and other steamboat restaurant which takes less than 5mins to get the base soup to boiling temperature.).
Fifthly : when making the payment, the cashier would even question us as to which table number we’re foot the bill after seeing the order ticket.
I would definitely not step foot into this eating place again.
