Went there recently in celebration of my last day at work with a group of colleagues during lunch.
Most of us had the Executive Lunch which comprises of : a) soup of the day - tat day it was cream of corn which was rather diluted. Didnt enjoy it
b) Main course - we had fish and chips, baked rice, pasta. I personally shared a set lunch (macaroni cream cheese) and ordered another ala carte dish THe sourdough chicken sandwich. The macaroni cream cheese was yummy.... but to eat alone may be too jelak. So, thats why I shared it with my colleague. And I love the sourdough chicken too.. juicy. Thumbs up to these two dishes.
c) Desserts - so called their signature desserts errr which was rather disappointing that day cos I was expecting a scoop of ice cream with a flaky pastry. I had that the other time I went to Swensen's Bishan. This time round it was merely ice cream mooncake (pandan). The size is not exactly like our typical mooncake, but much smaller. And even worse, I felt that they were miserly by giving us only HALF.
d) Drinks - soft drinks or coffee/tea. For ice lemon tea, have to top up 2 bucks.
All these for the price of the main course. WEll, alright, it was still value for money.

it was during the mooncake festival - they were serving ice cream mooncake as part of the executive lunch.

I've been to Swensens many times but this is my first time reviewing them. I brought my girlfriend to the outlet in Bishan Junction 8 after watching a movie.
Mega Burger ($13.90)
The burger is much bigger and taller than your average burger. The fillings include a layer of fresh lettuce and tomatoes, tasty grilled vegetables, one juicy succulent generous beef patty, slices of ham, 2-3 strips of very crispy bacon which went well with the BBQ sauce that came with it (nicer than Burger King's Bacon) melted cheese and onion topped with a sunny-side up egg which yoke was just nice (not too runny). The buttered bread was tasty and soft. The fillings tasted great together. However, it was rather difficult to eat it as a whole (messy eating). Its a very satisfying meal, best eaten when your very hungry or when sharing with a companion. Meal came with a small portion of yummy fries and tasty coleslaw.
Chicken Baked Rice (11.50)
First thing to note, when eaten alongside with the Mega Burger, it tastes more blend in comparison. The slices of chicken were mainly breast meat which was not to my liking. The top layer of melted cheese had cubes of carrot and thats about it. The rice reminded me of chicken rice rice. Very average dish in my opinion.
Total Bill came up to be $29.90 inclusive of service charge for both dishes. Waiting time is alright despite the place being packed. Service was nothing special. 4 STARS for the Mega Burger but overall experience I would give 3 STARS.
