Tonight, our family dinner was at Swenson's at Toa Payoh Entertainment Centre. To get there, we strolled from the bus interchange through TP Central, enjoying a pre-dinner walk in the cool evening.

Ambience One of the harder Swensons outlets to find, cos it's tucked away on the second floor of a building that doesn't have much foot traffic (most of the people are heading to the cinemas upstairs). So, it's not a very crowded outlet, and you have a sense of spaciousness.

Staff Swensons staff are generally younger adults and teens, so they are quite fresh and fun-loving. The staff here were very attentive, helpful and accommodating of our requests. Very good!

Food To be safe, we chose some familiar, some new dishes to try out tonight:

Mum wanted a light meal, so she opted for the Clam Chowder Soup ($7.90), a creamy soup with pieces of baby clams and vegetables, served in a sourdough breadbowl. Quite filling.

Dad wanted a healthy salad, so he ordered the Caesar Salad with Breaded Fish ($11.20) which had the crunch of fresh lettuces, and the flavour from the sliced fish pieces.

Meiz was adventurous and tried the Beef Goulash with Potato ($15.90) which unfortunately turned out to be bland and uninteresting. The beef had an overpowering spice taste and the mashed potato tasted a bit weird. Fortunately, she picked at Dad and Mum's choices.

I had the safest (tested and proven) meal, which was also the most unusual dinner choice. The All-Day Hearty Breakfast Set comprises a sunny-side egg, herb sausage, grilled tomato, chicken ham and hash brown, accompanied by creamy mushroom sauce and two thick French toasts. Included are a cup of juice (apple or orange) and a hot beverage (coffee or tea).

Noticed a Wagyu Beef promotion going on, perhaps we'd come back for it another time. We did get a scratch-and-win card and won a free 1-for-1 sundae for our next visit!
