Swissotel Equinox Restaurant

Awesome was the word that came to our minds when we first step into the soft carpeted entrance. As we waited to be ushered, we could see delightful expression on most of the diners as there are not many high floor dining places in Singapore offering good view of Central Business District and Marina Bay.

The varieties of food is quite limited. Perhaps because they are catering for hi tea which is from 3.30pm to 5.00pm. We walked and glanced through one round to decide what we would like to eat and then assigned our friends to each section.

We decided on laksa because it was freshly prepared by their staff. The gravy was average and quite diluted for our taste buds. But dim sum items were deliciously good. All of them were in bite sizes. It was a pity that these items were not replenished when the steamed baskets are empty.

There were a few Nyonya desserts that we liked and one of them is kueh kosui. It has a balanced mix of coconut milk and the fragrance of pandan leaves in the floured kueh.

Although there are not many items to choose, we were quite full after an hour of eating sushi, sandwiches and porridge. But we considered the price quite expensive for hi tea which we could have gone for better valued buffet lunch spread at Asian Market Cafe.

As we sat and rested our stomach, we began to enjoy the panoramic view of Singapore and appreciate the oriental setting of the whole environment. The only negative comment was that this place was rather humid even though standing fans and air cooler were placed at all corners.

we just passed a wonderfull night. they really got a magnificient view, an incredible service and an excellent food. the atmosphere is relaxing. it is a kind of paradise in singapore. no more stress, time just stop for a dinner!!!
