I don’t get to go often, although I like mushroom a lot, as my friends have no craving for it. Furthermore, their locations (at OG Orchard, Kallang etc) is usually not where we will go for dinner.
The first time I went (yrs ago), we concluded that the 2-person mushroom hotpot (with choice of meats or seafood or veg) is actually suffient for 3 persons, if you get a few of their side dishes.
Just recently I went again, they actually have ala carte buffet hotpot which was a good choice for a super-late lunch (we had to pay the dinner price as the afternoon price will only allow us to eat for another 30 mins) and we can skip dinner after that. Just that the price for 2 was $72.85 without drinks (still have ice water) nor extra side dishes.
The service was acceptable, just that they didn’t quite give me a chance to pick what I wanted and just served me a full tray of items, luckily even the veg are acceptable ones for us. We ordered another round of some meats and yup, we were served without given black faces.
For the side dish, I loved their fried monkey mushroom and the cold drunken chicken. And of course the many many types of mushroom in the hotpot. We also tried the Mala soupbase, which was so spicy, that we only dip our food in for a little while for the taste.

Pros:
Food was excellent, we ordered the mushroom pot steamboat buffet. The small dishes that came with it were simply delicious. Worth mentioning were the monkey-head mushroom in special sauce and Golden Mantou in the picture. Crunchy monkey-head mushroom tasted a bit like You Tiao and the Mantou taste heavenly when you eat it together with the condense milk provided. We had the "Yuan-yang" pot where there were 2 types of soup based. I did not try the "Ma-La" soup as I don't take spicy but the other mushroom soup base was great. Meat fresh and sliced thinly though my friend said the prawns were not very fresh. Cons:
Only tea is free flow. Had a difficult time trying to explain what is the meaning of "free flow" to the waitresses. Price is still affordable and worth it but that day the waitress did not explain clearly to us that it's CNY rate and we ended up paying more than normal. Emphasis was on mushroom and meat and less on other vegetables.

Happened to be at OG Orchard point yesterday and decided to try out this restaurant. Saw it a few time sbefore but didnt get the chance to try it out.
For a start, you could choose form ala carte menu or havinga setamboat buffet. ANd my suggestion would be to go for the buffet where the variety is aplenty. For starters, each person can have a choice from six different dishes on the menu, good for one serving. As for there are teh usual meat stuff such as pork, beef and chicken. But since the place is called mushroom pot, the main focus would be the different type of mushrooms that you can have a taste. And the soup base tastes great as well, with you getting to choose half mushroom base and the other spicy or 'ma la" base.
And good thing about this place is that teh food are fresh and served to your table. So you can just relax and wait for your food to come instead of having to walk constantly to get your food. The price of the buffet ain't that expensive either, which is at 29.90 , given the quality of the food
Lastly, the service of the staff is great as well, which makes it all the more enjoyable for you to have your meals there
