Forget about all brands of Notebook computers, buy Fujitsu. I used 3 models over the last 7 years, none of them have any probelms that need to send for service.
Of course, after sales support is very important and you should make your own judgement. Many times is that individual that you dealt with that may have the problem.

I sent my Toshiba Tablet PC(model no. PPM2iL-02PQK) for servicing on 01/03/07 the first time since I purchased it. I was told that they would contact me within 5 to 10 working days tops. Sad to say, I did not hear from them until 14/03/07. I do not knw if they are others who have experienced the same problem, but I am very unsatisfied with their level of service. They did not inform me whether it was due to a lack of parts, in short, they were irresponsible and made promises they could not keep. As a consumer, I demand proper service especially when it comes to something that I need to use on a regular basis. Not that it is a ver big matter but service standards in certain areas just do not seem to warrant the rise in GST.
