What food promotions do to me.

Due to the ongoing Citibank Gourmet Pleasures promo( they've extended it to end April 09), I am the most tempted to drop by Xiao Xuan Feng and with the tantalising discount of 50%( food only), how could I say no?

The place isnt exactly posh but it certainly has an old world charm. My total bill came up to only $16.50 for a table of 2. Here is what we've ordered-

    1. Fried onion La Mian ( springy noodles, not too oily, with a bowl of soup accompanying it ) 2. Pan fried dumplings ( the picture showed a prawn nestled inside the chive and meat filling, but no matter how hard I dig also cannot find it. Liked the crisp base and smooth dough though. Delicious!) 3.Fried durian puffs ( for those who love those slivers of durian flesh, you are in for a disappointment. The filling consists of only rather mashy durian purree, but taste good when hot) 4.Spicy chicken ( this is horrible. The chicken is cold and there is not much kick to it.)

The dumplings and la mian are a must try! Skip the chicken though..overall the food pricing is reasonable and the food fulfilling.

Went Hougang Mall to have dinner on saturday.

Alot of restaurant was long queue, we decide to eat at Xiao Xuan Feng.

We were showned to our seats on the walkway, just at where the queue was forming outside the Japanese restaurant next to it, abit too cramped here. All the restaurant was side by side and some even have seats along the walkway.

We ordered their Ma Po Tofu, Brocolli w Shrimp, Shanghai Red Bean Pancake and Chrysanthemum tea.

Their food is good and reasonable portion. The pancake thou it's abit too small in size was good. The chrysanthemum tea is refillable and not so sweet.

The bill comes up to $30plus. A very satisfying meal minus the stares from the queue if you are seated outside at the walkway.
