5 Reviews for “Ya Kun Kaya Toast (Lot 1) ” - Food & Beverages

Had a frenchy morning at Lot One Shoppers' Mall - Ya Kun outlet. I always love to patron this stalls as the aunties there are very friendly, at the same times, fast and efficient ;) There are at least 3 person there to serve the queue and their smiles will always make my day.
As my French toast is freshly toasted and served 'HOT', I was even warned about the hotness when the toast was passed to me. In addition, the half boiled egg is also tasty as the yolks are runny. Overall, is really good.
But this Ya Kun outlet stall does not have kaya balls, so fans of kaya ball take note!

The usual toast, coffee or tea. And it cost $ more than $3 per set. Some may find the price quite high for a normal breakfast.
The kaya toast tastes like the usual ones you can find in coffee shop, just that at ya kun, you get to enjoy it air-conditioned.
But i must say the half-boiled egg at ya kun is a lot nicer than those you eat in coffee shop. For one, you don't have to crack it yourself - they do it for you. And it is done to near perfection.
One thing in particular i like is the barley drink with fu shou(silkyz barley). Trust me, it's a must try.

I remember going to Ya Kun at Takashimaya and seriously, I am a coffee addict by nature. So imagine my surprise when my special order of kopi di lo (coffee straight, no water added) actually taste like coffee. How should I put it? If you are a true coffee drinker, you can tell by the taste of the coffee whether any water has been added to it or not. Wang Jiao on the other hand SUCK BALLS! It's as if the older folk pretended not to understand kopi lingo when I ordered my coffee from them. Ya Kun is definitely my choice when it comes to coffee!!

seriously, they're all the same. first time u buy, they give you what u want. subsequent times, they'll think you're trying to cheat more $$ from them. I give up on ya kun...
