The noodles are on the tough, chewy side and the char siew is more of the lean dry kind compared to the generic charred oily type... overall it is good but certainly not fantastic. Certainly a place to consider when you are looking for a cheap bite for supper.
The price of Fei Fei wanton noodle has increased to $2.50 & $3.00 since last year. I have been eating the noodle since 1979 when their father was the chef that handmade the noodle inside his house and their stall was just behind the back door compound. If you want some soup you must finish your noodle and use the same bowl to get the soup, that remind me when I was a little kid in the 60s, where soup was also serve this way. They moved to the present coffee shop in the late 80s because operating behind their house is prohibited by law. Their house is just a few metre away from the coffee shop. There are a few Fei Fei outlets, I only patronise the one at Joo Chiat because it is the original outlet. The taste of wanton noodle at this stall is still the same, very tasty and smooth, all wanton noodle lovers must try it out.
Bobosaid: Hi! I dunno maybe it's becos my stomach is small and I always ask for less. Maybe that's why I'm charged less but I didn't know that it made that diff in price. I still had $2.50 last couple of months 18 Sep 2007 at 12:31 am

Be prepared for the lunch crowd and the afternoon sun, try to be there earlier to park your car, else you would have to walk a long way to the infamous stall.
$2 for a lunch is VERY reasonable, i mean, its hard to find places selling a bowl of noodles at $2. The portion of the noodles is abit little IMO, but as I stress again, its just $2. The chilli is good!
