1 Review for “Yoshimura Ramen Bar ” - Restaurants

1 of my friends fished this restaurant from an advertisement so a grp of 4 of us went to have a look on a saturday night.
We arrived around 730pm & there was a short queue forming up, we asked for an inside table as the weather was hot, unfortuantely it was packed & we left our number for them to call once there's an available table. They called after 45mins or so.
We enjoyed the cool aircon & looked at the menu.... There was about 10 main dishes of ramen only..... The rest were side dishes & 3 types of desserts & sake/drinks..... What a sparse menu..... 1st I've ever encountered. I figure perhaps they're new....
We ordered the Tonkatsu ramen, Seafood ramen & pork shabu shabu ramen. Each bowl costs around $12-$15 which i think is affordable. The portion was average.
Deco was simple, neat & they had 2 tv set playing ASKA concert which is a jap band, personally i think its a little outdated compared to the music japanese musicians are dishing out now.
The food arrived within 10-15mins. The color & smell was there, presentation was pretty as expected from jap restaurants.
The tonkatsu was served in chashu shaped meat pieces which was acceptable by me, the soup base was heavy on the sesame & peanut-like taste but still not bad, the noodles didnt really have much texture, they were quite bland.
The seafood soup base tasted much lighter & has the taste of vege & seafood, i only saw the prawns in my friend's bowl, didnt manage to see other ingredients.
The pork shabu shabu soup base has a light pork taste so its quite acceptable, so you wont have to worry about a strong pork smell either.
They had burgers as a side dish, we didnt order that & no one in the restaurant seems to be ordering that but it sounds interesting, if any yebber tries the burger, pls comment on how it tastes.
Overall, quite an affordable restaurant which has acceptable ramen & good news is they close at 11ppm on weekdays & at 1am on weekends. great place for suppers or late dinners without emptying your wallet provided you dont touch the sake.
